Very true, most of the late model Hiluxs remind me of Colorados. I always like to see Hiluxs cause we don't have them here but IMO all of the late model ones look funny/ugly to me.

Good question as well. I used to drive one of those with a flat bed on it doing deliveries like 20+yrs ago. I hardly see those on the road anymore these days.

Agreed. Tacoma is the best looking midsized by far (especially 2nd gen), just wish we had the Hilux's choice of powerplant as a different option. IMO though, I would love to see the 5.7 iForce V8 from the tundra as an option for the Tacoma. Doubt that would ever happen though bc it'd cost Toyota too much to sell it like that with the engine-tranny-transfer combo.

I doubt we'll ever see Tacomas get diesel power plants or V8s. No market here for small diesel trucks. And Tacomas won't get V8s unless they keep getting bigger. US has these stupid power to weight ratio regulations. One of the reasons why we don't get all the good cars like everyone else does.

Yeah, it's really stupid because they used to put the 4.8L V8 in the 4Runner, and in the 1st gen Tundra. Tundra had a very similar drivetrain, same Diff size as my Taco, and the 4Runner is a smaller vehicle.

Matte gray actually, I almost went with gunmetal but glad I didn't. I didn't want dark wheels. Everyone has black wheels around here.

That's right. I agree, I like the matte grey better. The bronze and the gunmetal seem too dark. My issue is I can't find a brushed copper 16 to use as a spare. They're all gone.

I think there's definitely a market for small diesel trucks. Chevy has a diesel Colorado now, both Dodge and Nissan are making half ton diesels. No clue why there arent many engine choices on such a popular truck. A small V8 would be great too, I could see one of them being an option on the next gen taco.

4.7, but ya. The engine had less hp than the 4.0 actually but more torque, in the 4runner application. Tundra got a different version I think, with more power.

There was a 4.7L and a 4.8L spec V8. I forget which had which engine. 4Runner or Tundra or vice-versa ect. Theyre about the same.

Even though the 1GR, has a little more power. Having the extra two cylinders just leaves a few more options open for performance expansion. A V8 is also better harmonically balanced than a V6.
