I got up at 0630.

 

im a massage therapist, so that means im an independent contractor that is self employed... even though i am technically working for a casino/spa.. i make my own hrs and work full time, but if there is no business then there is no work for me which blows. i get 40% commission +tips which can turn out quite nicely when its busy as hell

 

i can use a massage right now....

well, thru my work they charge $90 for a 1hr swedish massage. typical tip scale if u really enjoyed the massage would be 20%... most people tip between $10-20. Most places you go to in a spa type atmosphere only give therapists commission. if they suck, dont leave a tip and definetly dont go back to see them. i got a $100 tip the other day from a V.I.P. and he took down our names that worked on him and his wife and he said he'd definetly be back. so whatever u leave just base it on how well u felt afterwards.... does that help?

edit: forgot to say that i do mobile massage and i charge $50/hr... but usually i get at least a $10+ tip

oh crap!! i totally forgot that there should be a blue cliff college near u for massage therapy students to do clinicals at!!!

u can go there and only pay $25 for a student to work on u! there ya go... i just saved u some money punk!!

 

I've never had a pro massage.. never... i want one now.... i suffer from pain in my back from time to time....

call the metarie school and they should tell u what day clinicals are. just schedule a day and only pay $25. at least thats what they charge at our local one when i used to have to do clinicals. u can not by law tip the students so u dont have to feel guilty its a win win situation now

 

and for that purpose we use elbows hun... you would be surprised what body types i work with daily. u shouldnt think like that bc we dont. yur just another body to work on that we have to try to manipulate skin and muscle tissue. so calm yurself down... take a nice long deep breath... pick up the phone and call the college... and get yur lazy ass up there after u schedule an appt!!!
