    Absolutely! At my age tent camping is a nogo. We got into the micro offroad campers last year and I'm hooked.

    Hey, thanks. Awesome advice. I'm stuck on what the first 5 must do upgrades/maintenance issues I need to do to get this thing ready for some adventuring. I don't care about looks, going function first. I had the rear leafs replaced on recall, other than that its a well-cared for, 1 owner, 109k mi Tacoma. I'm not trying to do hardcore wheeling, more the overlanding trajectory. Would like something I can live out of, off grid, for a week or longer. But that's where I get stuck in the rabbit hole...

    I just need to start somewhere and the first 5 must-do items would be a great help. Any threads or other resources would be quite welcome. Thanks so much!

    Trying not to go insane. 2yr old and 8 week old are sucking my soul dry. My 2 yr old is getting jealous because of the needs of the new born. Oh and the new born has a milk protein allergy. :angrygirl::angrygirl::angrygirl:
    My wife keeps telling me it's temporary and in the same breath she wants another.

    @Casper66

    Taken straight from the sticker. "Resistant" not necessarily "proof". But yeah...

    Anybody please feel free to jump in here! To me, I would first try to verify any maintenance records and see if anything needs to be done. Second, to me, If you plan on going off road at all which overlanding, legitimate overlanding, will take you through all sorts of terrain I suggest skid plates/ armor. Third, accomodations? Do you want to ground camp? Do you already have any gear? Would you rather sleep in the back of the truck? Gotta figure this out first. If you want to camp in the back of the truck there are several threads on here that outline DIY sleeping patforms that can be made at minimal expense with maximum storage and efficiency. Fourth, communications, a cell phone won't always get reception so look into a cb or even better a ham radio, These are now pretty simple to get a license for and the radios aren't super expensive either. Fifth, very important, safety and recovery gear, ya just never know what can happen. I hope this helps a little. It's a great big can of worms but alot of fun. Other than that get out and do it you'll figure out what you need as you go it's an on going experience. I am in absolutely no way any kinda expert and really just getting into this pretty good myself just sharing what I've figured out

    IDK about the having another part we stopped at 2. I knoe rt now sometimes you may feel overwhelmed but love every minute of it. There were times when mine had me running nonstop for weeks at a time and all I could think of is man aint this ever going to end. Then it did. The oldest just turned 26 and the youngest turned 22 last month. I miss those days. I do enjoy the quiet I enjoy now but I still really miss those days.

    Mine's turning 12 next week and just a few weeks ago he told me no more cuddling. + he talks back to me, does the very things I tell him not to. 2 weekends ago I had the cops banging at my door over complaints of him shooting his BB gun in the neighborhood, and the dang thing looks like a real handgun, his mom bought it for him and I rejected it but they assured me.

    I would be lying if I said I never did anything similar to this when I was growing up. Living out in the country it wasn't ever an issue and it was 40 years ago I was about his age. Times were different. I bet it scared the crap out of you when the cops came knocking though I hope it all ended up ok
