Well if that's the case then you must be talking about when we did your regear... same attention to detail we put on your stub shaft....? Then I can see why it took multiple posts

 

Like I said. I'm not as good mechanically as you are. It was my first time ever seeing a differential off of a truck and the very first time I have ever seen the internals. I've never even heard of a stub shaft until then. Which is why I had two people with more experience helping with it. I believe you were one of the two. So a total of three people must of missed it.

 

I'm pretty sure the issue with the beofang (and other non certified) radios is spurious emissions. Meaning while youryo happily using an appropriate band for your license the radio is also pissing noise and interference on other bands. I haven't put one on the bench yet, but apparently the cheap FM sets are pretty bad. 100$ is the price point for a certified one on Amazon though, so not too bad.

The FCC type certificate is similar to a DOT safety certificate for a car design. If you look at your cordless phone is certificate is different from your CB radio. Namely that the phone must accept all interference, while the CB is certified not to cause interference outside it's band.

A discussion of why cheap Chinese radios are causing interference is is an entire year of sophomore level digital communications classes, but boils down to: cheap shit is cheap.

I never looked for the shaft (no homo) because I literally did mine 7 days earlier and it came with the shaft from ecgs.... that's was the pretty lame on them and us alike lol
