The happy people are the majority. And they're the quiet ones usually. Because they're happy.
But yes, everyone's excited for more.

IIRC Mat said he was gonna have an 87 (mpg) tune. A 91 (mild performance) tune, and a 93 (max performance) tune.

You know I heard about an overlanding trio where a guy ran like half a tank o diesel in a third Gen and it didn't explode and ran fine.

Maybe 2.0 can run on diesel :D

This would be great. A mpg tune for all the people worried about mpg. A "normal" driving tune for everyday use. Then an all out power/sport mode tune for those of us who want more.

Yeah you can run diesel in gas engines and it does okay if it's like 2:1 or less. Wont kill it. Gas kills diesel engines though.

    It's a secret
Two years ago I had a '17 TRD Sport (AT) first release of that year model and it was doing that whole gear-hunt and never had Toyota re-flash the ECU up until the point I just decided to live with it and use ECT+Auto LSD ON+S-mode like a Formula-1 car whenever I didn't want to drive lazy; basically limit my gear from 1 through 5 forcing it to keep RPMs between 2.2k-3k. Now, I don't know if constantly shifting +/- on S-mode is detrimental to the auto-transmission, but the truck has lived on well through 49.9k miles until I recently traded it in for an (end year) '18 TRD Off Road 4x4 (AT)...I tend to drive by gear and RPMs than keeping an eye on my MPH haha.

My latest Taco is noticeably refined from the last as far as gear-hunting is concerned. I have just adapted to drive what I have better by anticipating it's shift points in relation to throttle amount and RPMs.

It is a truck, so it should act like one...but since it is capable of being driven like a [semi]sporty car where the best power and torque are in the 3.5k-6k RPM range...why the hell not just adapt and force user input without an ECU flash or OVtune. =) ...but...still doesn't mean I won't plan on an OVtune eventually =P Haha.

Side note, I'm new to this forum and have enjoyed reading all the various opinions you all have both positive and negative with our wonderfully love-hate relationships with our Tacos!

    I know, I understand...haha. That's why I said "eventually" =)

I got my '18 this past Saturday, so for the moment I am still apprehensive on not making any mechanical/electrical modifications until my warranty is up...59,7xx miles from now XD...or until I upgrade again and get a MT Taco...

You drove around day to day with auto lsd on? That's a great way of screwing up your brakes and diff!

Just brakes nothing to worry about on the diff. LSD is a brake actuated.
