2016 OVTune Tacoma 3.5L Manual Transmission / Engine ECU Reflash

I think the Toyota update also gave Matt some insight into this trucks stock tune and revealed some good info that he didn't previously have.

 

I too am impressed with Toyota's update, it is a vast improvement over the factory calibration. 1.04R 91 has been problematic however, as I get stuttering when not up to temp. This is nothing new, my truck has done this in one way or another on all but a few files. The good news is Mat definitely knows how to kill that symptom, as he's done it before. Meh, we'll see about 1.05, I just may need a bit of custom tuning.

 

Being a bit of a straggler to the updates I finally managed to get the 104r 91 on my stock 18,, the diff we noticed immediately !! On the same 2.5 hr stretch of highway “we travel often”,, on stock tune we would have to downshift a min of 10-12 times due to hills along the way,, with the tune ,,, just 1 time !! That alone made us happy with Matt’s work lol ,, we had no stutters “ sorry frank” everything was smooth and power was there when we wanted it ,, there was no “thinking” about it or hesitation on trucks part when I punched the throttle,, 105 smoke show COME ON!!!!

 

Only black smoke. No white smoke.

 

And the redheaded stepchild rears its ugly head...

 

At this point, @MOC221_ may as well consider trading in his truck for a newer 6MT and then apply the tune lol

Nah, it's ok.

It did run pretty good on 1.04A 91 (except for knock) and 04B13.

It's a game of whack a mole though... fix one thing and another pops up.

 

I get the same stutter if truck is cold. Once it heats up it’s good to go.

 

I wasn’t going to sell my tune but yea the tsb was pretty legit but the 1.04R. Hot damn. Mat killed it. 1.05 will be very interesting.

I’m still an ahole but will b a happy ahole driving the 1.05.

 

Can't wait to see what his new found ECU/programming knowledge translates to, especially WRT throttle manipulation.

 

yeah, my throttle is so [relatively] great now and does what i need, but the change coming with 1.05 is definitely intriguing. especially now with this crazy exhaust, I'm flowing like crazy and can't wait to see what's up.

 

Did you promise a vid of that exhaust recently?
