10? I think. I got these wheels and tires 2nd hand. Rub is on the outside face of the caliper only. Unfortunately I drove like 15 ft with them bolted on to find out they were rubbing so its not by much 1-2mm

Was the rub a hard thud thud or just a tiny scrape? If its just a small scrape you could probably grind a small bit of the caliper off to stop the rub and save yourself from running spacers. I know a lot of sports car guys will run small 1-3mm spacers to get the same effect you are looking for but a lot of people frown upon it. I personally wouldnt run anything without it being hubcentric.

It started shaving off aluminum on the back of the wheels and scraped the caliper like 2-3 inches across its face

I would have to see pics to be sure but it sounds like if it shaved metal off the caliper and kept spinning its not too bad of a rub and the caliper might be able to be ground down a bit. BUT again I would have to see pics.

Cool thanks for the input I might throw these 1/4 inch spacers on to get home from the shop then grind it down in my garage

The pass side isnt scraping at all so grinding might be the way to go

If you do grind it down dont take a whole lot off. It sounds like you were able to drive it more than 2 feet with it rubbing so it wouldnt take much more than a quick pass with a grinder to get the rub to stop. Dont go too deep or you will make your brakes useless.

I got new tires. KO2s. As of today I have been given license by the boss to turn this into an adventure vehicle. Today, tires...tomorrow the moon!

Honestly not too bad. The longest part was taping the sidemarkers and parking lights so I could keep them chrome.

    In the simplest terms:
    1. Removed headlights from truck
    2. Removed all bulbs and screw hardware from the lights
    3. Heated oven to 300°, immediately shut off the heat and put headlights in for 10mins
    4. Remove them and separate with a flat head screwdriver

First, thank you off road fans and modification gurus. Your OEM is appreciated. Second, found a CL special, 2018 OEM wheels and tires, for my 2010 rig, $300 total. Since I'm 99.44% on city roads, these OEM Hankooks will do fine, and I'll save my Michelin OR tires for the hunts and snow. Somewhat concerned that the tread-depth was only 10/32 when the story was "my son owned it 3 weeks and drove 500 miles before getting new rubber," but I measured before I bought and still consider the purchase good for my purposes. I think I'm set for rubber for a while and can save up to buy OR replacement rubber.

Made some DIY bed brackets to mirror my axe and shovel and are designed to hold my jack handle halves. End goal is a watered down concept of a chase truck.

Also finally got off my ass and did the diff breather mod that's been sitting on my bench for 6 weeks now... :bananadead: Took literally 5 mins.

will those TPMS sensors from a 2018 work with a 2nd GEN truck? im thinking of buying some alloy takeoff rims for a 3rd GEN to use on my truck and wondering if those TPMS sensors can be reprogramed to work with a 2nd GEN truck

Based on the threads I have seen, the 3rd gens work on a different freq than the 2nd gen TPMS sensors so they are incompatible.

that stinks I was looking on CRAIGSLIST and have seen numerous 3rd GEN takeoffs for sale with lugnuts and TPMS with low miles on the rubber, since the 2nd GEN trd alloys are getting harder to find in decent condition.

Would be curious to know why they changed freq. Usually once you get something working, you don't change it, if only to avoid extra hassle from us accounting types bitching about your R&D costs.
