    To clear up a few things.
    Obviously there are a ton of factors that come into play when airing down. Lots of debate about what pressure to use and where the limit is.
    Bottom line is, there is a point of diminishing return where you can take more air out of the tire but you're not gaining more traction. All you're doing is increasing your chance of damaging something.
    Again, lots of factors that go into where that point is.

    The only testing I can vouch for was with a 4Runner (which was about 15% heavier than your average Tacoma), sharp rocky terrain, with 285/70/17 Wild Peak MTs. We set the cold PSI to 10.
    We did some mid speed cornering and saw that the wheel was getting a little too close to the terrain for comfort so we decided not air down any further. Mind you that's >33" tire. A taller sidewall will be a different story.

    In many cases like this one, 5 PSI is a surefire way to damage a wheel with the set up that we and most of us on Tacoma World have. Might be reasonable with 37s or 40s in MOAB but at that point, you probably want true bead locks.

    Does the 701 help with bead retention? Absolutely. Can you air down to 5 PSI? No problem. But weigh your options here. Are you going to be able to tell the difference between 9 and 5 PSI? Is it beneficial or careless?

    I get it. Everyone wants to know "what PSI can I air down to?" the answer is to where you feel comfortable.

    This little rant reminds me of when customers would nit-pick about what AFR to tune their motorcycle to when all they were running was a slip-on muffler on a bike that never even saw a race track. Dude you're not going to notice a difference between 13.0 and 13.2; stop being ridiculous.

    Been a while since I bought rims. Pretty sure I have a 16x8.5. Not sure of the back spacing or offset but don't wheel manufacturers stamp that on the back of the rim?

    Super digging those bronze.

    Offset usually is stamped on the back of the spokes. Should say "ET**".

    We have more 16x8s in bronze coming at the end of October.

    Random info - "ET" is short for the German word 'Einpresstiefe' which translates as "insertion depth"

    German is so fun, just combing words to make a new word.
    Ein = A
    Press = Press
    Tiefe = Depth

    Anyone running 255 width tires with these wheels? Looks like they’re right at the max wheel width at 8.5” for the new tires I’m getting (33” skinny Nitto/Coopers) so technically they should be compatible. I’d be interested in hearing anyone’s experience with skinny tires on these wheels before I pull the trigger though.

    If you're looking for 17s it depends on the aspect ratio. If its 75 or less, you should be good to go:thumbsup:
