Getting ready to make this purchase but curious about those who have done this mod some time ago how it is holding up? Particularly since the cut out is in essence open to the wind around the edges have you noticed any vibrations or deformities in the cutout since the install? Looks really clean but most pics aren't close up. Any concerns post install?

Did a bunch searches for this topic and couldn't find anything. Apologies if I missed if this was already discussed.

    Thanks!

I did this install a few months ago. What remains of the existing plastic bumper is incredibly tight to the steel slimline bumper. Along with the edge trim kit, there's no deformation or "opening up". Pull the trigger, you'll love it.

Still love mine as well, have had it about 10 months now. There are brackets that come out from the mount and bolt into two stock bolt locations on that corner and it stays firm.

Thanks guys. My biggest concern, as I'm sure for many, is the cutting. I would love to see SSO do a video just on the taping lol. Gonna pull the trigger, was just wanting that last little confirmation :)

Any issues with the bull bar blocking the sensor in the bottom of the grill on the 2018 TRD Pro?

I did tape a little too far in on mine despite following the "updated" directions and so I cut too much. I might err on the side of trimming a tiny bit more later if I had it to do again, but there is a little room for error because the weather stripping is a little deeper than it needs to be so you can push it completely against the trimmed plastic or pull it away maybe 1/8-1/4" and squeeze it so the metal clamps down tightly.

With the tiny gap I have, near the very bottom corner on each side. I don't think it's visible at all to anyone but me when I'm washing it or otherwise scrutinizing minute details that no one cares about. It was actually perfect everywhere you see from normal angles based on just using the thickness of the tape. Only that lower bit is a little more subjective.

I love mine. The bumper is solidly built. It lasting and holding up is all based on how well it's powder coated or painted. I got mine bare and put several coats of bed liner on it. Seems to be holding up well. Only been a few months though.

I wonder if there have been any issues with TSS when using the Pro grille... it has the sensor lower in the grille.

It looks like the OP has a Pro hopefully he’ll update the thread after his bumper is installed
