I am a bit confused on what one to order. I want to get the MX to read trans temps on my 15'. But reading the description on the second post should I get the EM? "So 2004 and older Tacoma should purchase UltraGauge Blue or UltraGauge EM"

 

No, you want the MX. You just need to enter the codes manually. They only come preprogrammed for 05-11

@Gabassman Are you putting this in your 2005? Do you know for fact this is going to work and monitor your transmission temp? I cant find any good information that tells me that these will work in are late model 2005 trucks.

 

When does this end? I am trying to get a good definite answer from a member if these will work on are 2005 trucks and I have messaged him. I haven't been able to find any good info if they will monitor the trans temps on are late model trucks.

Yes, I have a 2006 and I was the beta tester.
The ultragauge mx 1.3 will read auto trans temps

 

I found something in there where it listed Vin's. I don't know if I got into something else or if that was part of it.

 

Do we have to send it back or will it do it right out of the box?

 

The mx 1.3 u may have to tweak a couple things as others have had to change the code a little.
I haven't had 1 for years tho, so maybe they altered the code.
No u don't need to send it in... Unless u have an older mx1.2 then u need that updated to 1.3 software.

I got paper instructions and online help as a tester, so ymmv on the settings/instructions
