7psi on stock everything seems to be the magic number. FYI.

7psi isn’t even worth the effort lol. That’s like 100hp for big bucks.

100hp would be a huge difference in this engine, imo. And the right turbo will start to build boost at 1.5k rpm with about 2psi.
Again, all stock guts and ECU and fuel system. No change in anything, good numbers across the board, too.

    It's a much later back-burner project.

Rather have $2k+ in a turbo gaining me 100hp constantly, over spending half that in tunes from that one place who claimed they don't have enough interest in 4 bangers and all their attention is directed at the v6.

Do believe that requires a pump change. Have occasionally browsed the URD pump/filter mod. Increase the flow and relocate the filter OUTSIDE the tank, rather than integrated with the pump.

I have honestly never been much into the whole turbo topic, I just know the 2TR is a good candidate for boost, without having to replace all the internals. All I know about boosting, is not to go higher than 19psi, bad things tend to happen.

I'd personally rather throw the $ at gearing. Let the gears/gearing do the work when wheeling.

Oh, I also went to Toyota today and bought frapping driveshaft bolts. $34 poorer.

Also true. Can't decide between 4.56 and 4.88. Don't want to small and still have 33s suck on the highway going to/from wheeling destinations, don't want too tall and get all the revs in 5th gear at 70mph.
Either option will be a good change off road and low speed use.

There is no such thing as over geared in a manual trail rig. 5.29 with 33” tires for me is still not enough in the hard stuff.

If you’re gonna ever run 35’s, go 5.29s. You’ll chug gas on the highway but worth it. I had 4.88s for a couple years cause 5.29 hadn’t came out. If I could do it over, I would’ve waited. The 4.88 is awesome. But 5.29 would be even more awesome

I really can't say I would disagree to much. 5 Lug auto's come with 3.58 rear ends, ( I know, right!) I went to 4.3 and it was still a gutless wonder getting on the highway, going up hills. I was pushin' 32's on 4.3 and gotta say, the slug problems between the 5 lug and 285's on 4.10 is not much different. I'm going to have to really be in the mood since a regear means front and rear, and the front is all, gotta take the whole thing out and take it apart and yadda yadda yadda.

Some people aren't interested in that though... Plus only benefits when it's dry. 5.29 benefits all the time!

This is true. Just comes down to how much you really need it and hate tearing up your clutch
