last day of huntin

well tomorrow mornin im headin out early to Pedigre WMA in Fredericksburg, VA to get my last day of huntin of the year before september rolls around. hopin to get a limit of squirrels. ill be sure to take pictures and upload them if I get anything.

 

good luck man. im waiting till fall before i start picking them off here. they are fattening up on bird seed.

Your shitting me right? That's like eating a prairie dog here in Montana, I shoot those suckers with my 338 lapua, and your lucky to find a scrap!

 

I've eaten allot of different things, but never vermin.
I guess I could always try it, just to say I have. Probably allot like rabbit I suppose.

 

tomorrow im usin a marlin .22. sometimes i use a shotgun but i think that takes some of the fun out of it. I also use my bow if it is a slow day deer huntin and they are gettin on my nerves. the arrows make it easy to find them after i climb out of the stand

and yes i do eat them. my favorite way is to boil them for about half an hour then pull the meat off and cook them in butter and salt then chop the meat up and mix them in with busch's original baked beans

If anyone from the DC/Nova area wants to go along you are more than welcome. i will be on here for about another half hour. just let me know and we can find a spot to meet up then go kill some squirrels. ill be out of there by noon cus i gotta go to CNU with my cousin for a weekend

Humm, you guys got me curious now, there is no season for squirrels here in Montana, so you can shoot at will here all year long. I may have to take trip to the hills and try this delicacy. Got a recipe for me?

 

Shit man get creative. Let your mind just think of some stuff and do it. BBQ, Oven, whatever

 

yeah. pretty much goes good anyway. just make sure you boil them for about half an hour because they can be pretty tough. Here are the top 3 recipes for me

1. Boil. Cook in butter and salt. Mix in with baked beans. Enjoy
2. Boil. throw on grill wrapped in bacon with a little butter on top. bacon grease is good to pour over but can and will cause a large fire. enjoy.
3. Boil. Dip in beer of choice. roll in a flour/salt/pepper/cayanne pepper mix. throw in deep fryer until done. enjoy
