Anyone know if it's possible to powder coat an off road grille?

Powder coating plastic is a special process, but not impossible. It's usually UV cured and the application process is a little more involved than normal electrostatic coating since plastic isn't conductive. You'll have to see if there's anyone in your area that would do it, but it would probably be really expensive. Much cheaper to just paint it.

OP registers, waits a week, then proceeds to bash one of the first mods that 75% of 3rd gen owners do lol.

Or maybe he bought a Tacoma, made an account and saw a billion TRD PRO grille pics, then wondered why people saw it as a must-do?

...its purely an aesthetic mod so its pretty plausible people have different opinions on it

I see many mods on here that I wouldnt touch with a 10 foot pole. Never felt the need to create a thread about my opinion on them. Seems odd to do that imo....

The Pro Grille looks good. I have had a pro grille for over a year now. I have grown bored with the look of it though. Now that the cheap knockoff ones are here, everyone has a pro grille.

I got rid of my pro grille and installed this unique beauty. I just like having something not many people have. And I love this new grille. It’s metal, sturdy and sits flat.

I definitely prefer the 2018+ Trd or/sport grill. A lot nicer than the 2016-2017.

I see lots of mods that are butt f’n ugly and expensive to boot. Not my truck and not affecting my wallet or me in any way. They are obviously something the owner likes so let them do whatever they want to their own property. I will do the same to my stuff.

Why do people constantly worry about what others think (the list of threads asking for others opinions are endless)? And why do others want to question the reasons why other owners buy, mod or do whatever to a truck that isn’t yours?

agree. A wayyyy better thread would have been "I don't like the TRD Pro grille - what other options are there?" or someshit

I don't think it's ugly but everyone now has it. It looks good. But I see it everywhere . Kinda taken the fun out of it.

I was on the fence about changing mine out for the pro. It's not that I like it better. I just really dislike chrome. Thinking about painting it black.

I do not think the Pro grill is ugly, but I personally will not be buying one. Actually it is a good looking grill, but I simply like my cheese grater and I think looks great on a SSM Sport, so why spend ~$125 :notsure:

Not a fan. I think it looks too busy. I prefer the 18-19 grille with its shiny dark plastic. It is simpler cleaner design and more elegant but still looks purposeful without looking to base modelish IMO.

My Pro Grille cost about 168.00 total, no where near the 400.00 that your thinking. But it looks much better than the 2018 Sport (cheese grader style, lots of chrome) grille.

Yes you can and it's available as oem. It use to only be available aftermarket. I think black out trim is part of the Audi S line package.
