3rd Gen Side Mirror Puddle Lights & Under hood light

My previous truck had puddle lights and I really liked how they illuminated the side of the truck. I was searching for LED lights to install under the body of the truck then came across these flush mounted LED’s that were small enough to fit in the side mirror. They came out pretty good. I have them wired in to the rear cargo light so when you unlock the truck all sides of the truck gets illuminated. The lights were $8.99 for a pack of 5, and the 10ft of thin gauge wire used to thread through the side mirror and door harness was $4.99. This is the 26 AWG wire. I bough thin wire so it would be easier to run through the side mirro and through the door harness.

That look great!!! What wire did you tap for the lights? Do they come on when you unlock the truck?

 

I have a retractable cover on my bed so I installed the tundra cargo lights in the bed and tapped into the cargo light. The wiring for that is right under the driver side kick panel. The light comes on when you unclock the door, open the doors and you can manually turn them on by using the OEM cargo light switch. I followed this YouTube video for the wiring. It shows you exactly what wires to tap into.

I’ve got the 360 camera as well and would LOVE to have some puddle lights on there along with the cameras..if anyone knows how, please post!

Got mine done. Meso Customs were easy to install...took a bit of time, but not complicated at all. They work great! Even with the 360 cameras there was no problem. Now on to some VLED footwell lighting...

 

Anybody here have those spare underside covers laying around after doing this upgrade??

I am looking to do the same for my 2017 Tacoma, I already have x2 3w LED bolt lights from Oznium.com. Do you have an install guide for this? I was thinking of tapping into the cargo light circuit so they will come in when I approach the truck or when I use the FOB to unlock the truck.
