Holy crap! That's a super large hole! I actually secured my pump with two nylon zip ties because nylon is impervious to petroleum. When you hit the gas do you feel a cut out of acceleration?

I feel cut out if and only when I am less than a 1/4 tank of fuel low and am hammering it WOT on the highway for an extended amount of time. It's pretty much my trucks way of saying, "hey dude, you got less than 60 miles of distance left in your tank. Can you not hammer on me until you fill me up please?"

Yesssir! and yep, the truck basically hesitates, and then it takes off a fraction of a second later. Also falls flat on it's face sometimes during a quick throttle tip in.. Almost seems like there is air in the fuel line..

That size hole will do it.. that's exactly what it is then because I have experienced the same thing before with the circumstances I mentioned above on my own. If I wasn't so heavily boosted it probably would never manifest, but the excessive demand in fuel overcomes the amount of fuel in there at less than 1/4 tank at WOT.

Really hoping this is the problem.. been trying to track this shit down since the end of June.. Just ready to boost on without any more problems!

Interesting that you've had this issue as well when it dips below 1/4 tank.. Makes sense though..

Yeah unfortunately I chalked it up to an unavoidable issue no matter how well of a job you do. I made slits to run the zip ties through but there will always be some out leakage and I figured that out as I studied it.

I have no doubts that the lean issue you are having is 100% related to your fuel pump bucket hole.

Lol.. been creepin on your build and saw this.. didn't believe my eyes when I first read it... after all, you are the pulley man! :D

Did you relocate your battery to your bed?

That's good news for me.. I literally went back through everything else, so im thinking it HAS to be the fuel bowl..

I'm stoked to see your results after you redo your fuel pump bowl!

As for me, yeah well, that was before I discovered an option existed for our blowers which was never previously known about to change out pulley sizes in less than 5-10 minutes.

After I found out about that, that option became the only option which I knew HAD to go on, no matter what labor was required to be able to do so. :)

    Oh and also.... creeper... lol.

You and me both! Will definitely keep you posted on how it goes:thumbsup:

Kudos to you for doing the R&D on this one. Definitely the best mod for these blowers out there! Thanks for giving me the heads up on this as well. I was going to do a URD stealth pulley, and you quickly steered me clear of that :hattip:

    lol.. :anonymous:

I just didn't like how the only way you could mod on these was to do a press on style design. It was not okay and I couldn't believe that the design was only around in 6-8 rib designs like for the Grand Prix blowers. So I got to searching and eventually wound up here. It was worth the time and effort, not to mention it looks great!

Thanks for reminding me I needed to update my list of mods on here. I have since the time of my last update hollowed out the hood scoop vent for additional heat extraction and also added in my Aerocatch hood latches finally! Both worthwhile mods. :woot:

Absolutely a massive upgrade over the stock press-on style pulleys. I know ill never go back..

So did you end up relocating your battery to the bed of the truck? don't think you answered this.. from the looks of the gallon S/C coolant tank though, it was definitely moved somewhere.. :spy:

We need some pics of the hood and what you did!

The Aerocatch hood latch mod was not fun and install was not pretty, but it works and you can't even tell it was modded over, they just fit.

The hood scoop was also another that was difficult to do because it is one solid piece so I had to drill/dremel/ and file away tons of plastic to make it work. I did the mod strictly for better heat extraction due to my AC system suffering massive heat soak at idle during 90-100* F days here in California. The fan was not capable of moving enough air to shed all the heat build up the AC was creating. That's really why I did it. It doesn't look perfect, but it damn sure works and it works well at that!

I moved the battery under the vehicle a long time ago and I relocated it under the passenger rear door basically. There is a large spot on the frame that is free for the most part of obstruction and so I decided to run the battery there and have been doing so since 2014. Maybe 2015, either way, it survived some really heavy off-road running out in Pismo Beach and even jumps, and the battery has continued in the same spot since happy and undisturbed. I believe I posted pictures of it here sometime ago.

The qwikchange design is one that I am SO glad I did and will never go back to anything else myself. It has earned its place underhood.

Sweeet! Sounds like some good functional mods. Very interesting you relocated it on the frame rail.. i'll have to go back and find those pictures.

Looking good! Is that an aftermarket hood, or did you just modify it to fit those hood latches? Im digging the fiberglass fenders too. So much good stuff going on here!

That is the factory hood actually! I had to modify it to fit the latches. I put it off for a long time because I was afraid to cut the metal but eventually did it, I'm glad I did too because that hood flutter I would get would scare the hell out of me.

You talking like high speed hood flutter? Or when youre offroad thrashing on it?
Mine starts shaking some after i get to about 90mph+

I used to get high speed flutter at like 65+ mph. The truck was good at offroading and slower speeds. It would get worse the faster I would go, or if there were high winds. The last straw for me was during my trip to LA back in march/ april. There was a lot of wind and I would see the hood shake pretty hard. The latches finally stabilized the hood, like night and day difference.

I actually do not run E85 because its stochiometric ratio and full power potential ratio is much lower than that of standard fuel. The fuel pump is capable of handling it, but my PCM would need some sort of switching programming similar to GM flex fuel programming that allows the use of standard fuel or E85 on the fly.

Right. Just wondering if you'd hacked it to make it work somehow... wouldn't be out of the question considering you're using the 2.3.
