Alright well with the release on consoles about a month away, I figured I would start a thread for RDR2.

I've been away from gaming for awhile now but this game has brought me back! I pre-ordered it on PS4 and told my wife not to bother me for the week after it gets released haha.

I wish I had more PTO cause I would use it for this. I'm probably going to buy it twice so I can play it now on PS4 then again on PC. I need a PS4 anyways for The Last of Us part 2 so why not just buy the RDR 2 PS4 Pro bundle.

I'm excited they built it from the ground up with 1st person in mind. GTA 1st person was good when they ported to the next gen consoles, but it was a little weird because of how fast paced the game was. Probably won't play the whole game in 1st person, but will be cool to switch to it for gunfights and stuff.

I'm a little behind the times, I've not upgraded since PS3. I did love RDR so naturally I want RDR2. Is there an advantage for getting one console over the other? For example, bonus content on one.

I wish I had a new Xbox. I still have the day one 2013 edition and its starting to keyhole my disks and refuse to play sometimes. :(

PS4 is releasing a PS4 Pro Bundle that includes RDR2 for free I believe. I saw somewhere PS will have 30 days of online play before any other platform, not sure if that's reason enough to buy PS vs. xbox though

Is the only real difference between the two just user preference? If that's the case, I'll probably just get the PS4 bundle.

In on this thread. I've already pre-ordered the digital RDR2 for PS4, can't wait to download and play it!

XBL is Xbox Live? That doesn't affect my decision because I prefer to play by myself.

I loved the first one but I’m staying skeptical for RDR2. I’m hoping they don’t ditch the main game in favor of the online part like they did with GTA5.

Is it possible to play the RDR (1) on Xbox one in the time being? Looks like they released backwards compatibility on it, but I hadn't heard about it.

On a separate note; COD2? After I found out I couldn't play them on my XB1 when I first got it, I really got out of the loop. I'm hoping someone says yes, both are working, and I'm just not gonna leave my apt this weekend.

There are games coming out that are exclusive to each console. So depending on what you want to play then pick the console that has those games. For me it's PS4. Xbone and PC are crossplay but Sony just announced it will be going as well so there's that.

Hopefully it's got a lengthy and enjoyable campaign because plenty of folks like me are going to be buying the game and a current game system.

Online play really doesn't interest me (for any game). I'm real hopeful that the single player campaign has plenty of meat to it. Based on all the stuff they've released so far, it seems like they developed the game real deep and will have tons of single player content.

RDR1 is backwards compatible on XboxOne. Not sure if you mean COD2 or MW2 but both are backwards compatible anyways. I find it sort of funny that MW2 was the #8 game sold in August.

It depends on what model of console you go with. If you’re going with just a base console, a PS4 is cheaper with loads of more gaming content. If you’re looking into the upgraded versions like the PS4Pro or the XboxOneX, then it comes down to whether you value image fidelity and performance or gaming more. XboxOneX will have the best performance and best image quality with the best 4K, but PS4Pro has more exclusive games focused around single player experiences and great stories. “Bonus content” varies from both, but Sony usually has the upper hand with digital content usually arriving first on PS.

Dude same. I had actually called Microsoft last year to see if I could have it fixed under warranty. It wasn’t covered but they suggested blowing small short bursts of compressed air through the slit where you put in the disk. That did the trick for mine, maybe it will for you.
