What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Me too, all always take me longer to "set up" than actually get the job done lol

 

It's a 14 min long video.

Took a friend and I about 4 hours to do 1 side (LOTS of BS and sandbagging), then 20 mins to do the other.

Then had to outsource the brakes and alignment.

 

I'd say worst case, follow the instructions in the Blackout housing thread, they should give you much more confidence.

 

Yes it lives in my truck, works perfect for changing out to the full size spare on any surface. Only thing is you have to keep them vertical, if you lay them on their side the jack will leak.

 

So I decided to "black out" my headlight housings but now that they're painted, I'm not sure about the color. I used Dark Gray Gloss. My original plan was to do a gunmetal look to make them similar to the sport housings.

I'm thinking before putting the lights back together that I should maybe repaint them with satin black.

What do you think?

 

That's a hell of a museum for anyone that has the chance to witness it in SLC.

IMO, if you are questioning it now, once you get it all back together you will be kicking yourself for NOT repainting...my 0.2

Maybe re-shoot w/ a different, gray, like a charcoal metallic. Then if you still don't like it, F it and go black(satin or whatevs)

I lightly sprayed an aluminum metallic over them. I'm definitely happier than before.

 

Looks good. How did you tape the reflectors off?

Swapped out torn CV

 

Wow, I have to replace mine twice a year here. Desert is hot and dry though.

 

Took the rear driveshaft off to get it rebuilt....

 

I'm gonna be doing a simarlar setup for my accessories this spring

 

I also use rainx on front window so water beads & o dont have to use them as much. Intermittent wipers are on my future
