Has anyone placed an order with Southern-Style Offroad in the past couple of months and if so what's the status of your order? My dealership ordered a Slimline front bumper with 30 inch light bar and a Warn winch for me 9 weeks ago and still no bumper. At the time the order was placed they stated southern style is back ordered by six to eight weeks but I'm hearing that southern style is filling massive orders from distributors as they come in and before they get to the smaller one and two and maybe even 10 piece orders. The dealership just told me it's going to probably be another 8 weeks. Sound like S.S.O needs to get there Sh!t together and fill orders as they are placed. Maybe someone can direct me to one of their said distributors so I can get my bumper before winter wheeling season. Thanks everyone!

UPDATE: Bypassed the dealership and called SSO directly and they confirmed shipment to my dealership. Apparently there was a MAJOR communication gap between the dealerships parts department and their purchasing agent. The gal at SSO was very helpfull and found the order right away. Thanks again Southern Style!

Have you tried asking them? I’ve always gotten an answer back from them within 24 hours. Sounds to me like your dealership forgot to order the bumper....as a side note, why didn’t you order it yourself?

You can call them or just visit their website and a dialogue box will open.

Ooooooor you could tag them @SouthernStyleOffRoad

According to their site, they’re near Baton Rouge, LA. So nowhere near the hurricane.

Hoping this isn’t going to turn into Pelfreybilt Part II.

I believe they are in fact in S.C. but the parts manager at the dealership says SSO recently received an order of 500+ units with a new distribution center and has put the smaller orders on hold. Even Southern Styles website currently states 6 to 8 weeks from time of order. Maybe they don't want to scare potential buyers away with huge lead times. Hopefully it will come in time for Christmas so I can at least use it as my wife's gift to her :D

I ordered a bumper 9 weeks ago and it’s been in powder coating for a week. I highly doubt the dealership is being honest with the OP. (Not calling the OP a liar, just saying the dealership probably didn’t actually order the bumper)

I ordered it through the dealership because when I went in for another purpose I noticed they had one on one of their new Tacomas and he said yep I have another one on the way I ordered 3 weeks ago if you'd like to put your name on it. I figured 3 weeks into an order is better than me ordering it and waiting eight weeks. This dealership specializes in off-road builds and they do their trucks up very nicely and have their own build shop. I was hoping their connection with SSO would guarantee a descent turnaround.

Yeah sounds like they (edit: the dealership) gave your bumper to someone else. SSO has been very easy to work with for me. My theory would be very easy to prove if you contact SSO tomorrow during business hours and ask them about the dealership’s order history.

Didn't see them under the vendors list so I was not aware they are on Tacoma world but I will definitely tag them. Thanks!

Yea I've always heard good things about SSO and their lead times being fairly on point. Sounds like something is up with the dealer?

    Lots of sail boat fuel

...before you start smearing a company's name on a site, I'd get on a phone and call them (SSO) directly...about a part you apparently don't have any money towards.

Next time I'd go right through the manufacturer. The reason being that at the end of the ordering process they will tell you directly what their less time is and there is no confusion.

A dealership has a million things to deal with. sSO makes just one line of products. And their priority is you, the customer.
