Hey all. I picked up a '17 OR DCSB last month. This is my first non-Jeep vehicle ever. I've had 6 different Jeeps including a Wrangler, Cherokee, Wagoneer, 2 different model Grand Cherokees, and a Commander. Spending every other weekend repairing that last one was starting to get old and was costing as much as a new car payment so I'm trying something new. That being said, I'll try not to ask any stupid questions here but please forgive me if I do.

The Tacoma needs some work suspension wise. It came w/a 3/2 spacer lift which I'll be replacing with an OME 888/Dakar HD combo soon. It has some non-branded after market UCAs and a diff drop already installed. I already replaced the 255/75 tires that came on it w/some General Grabber ATXs 285s. For anyone worried about those being too stiff b/c of the E rating, don't. They feel fine on and off road. If anyone needs a spare Duratrac in that 255/75 size, I have one to sell plus the stock spare and wheel that came on the truck. I'd post those in the marketplace but need to get my post count up first. I'll be replacing those Predator steps with some sliders, and have been looking at the SSO Slimline front bumper to get a winch mounted in. I'm still debating on whether to buy a bed rack or just throw a topper on it.

I've been lurking on the forums for the last couple weeks and have already learned quite a bit. I did the CMC/pinch weld mod/fender liner remold before I even put the bigger tires after on. I found an awesome phone/radio mic mount from Hondo Garage through here. And, I've been studying up on all the different spring options available for these trucks. Anyway, in the last month I've driven the truck all over the Tetons where I live, plus taken it on some trips to Yellowstone, the Sawtooths, and Glacier and it's been working out pretty well so far. Unfortunately, this is the only photo I've taken of it yet and it's not that good but I'm sure I'll be taking more soon.

    Take care,

    Dana

Welcome, nice looking truck! here’s mine, there’s not too many of us wheeling black trucks. Delete the diff drop no good on 3rd gens. I’m running Fox but if I had to do it again I’d run ADS (650’s). Headstrong is the best for suspension IMO.780E549E-3FC5-4080-BFB9-8300CCEF3999.jpg

Thanks! Good looking truck you got there too! I like the black. Who cares if it shows dirt, it's supposed to right? What's the issue w/the diff drop on these? Seems like the CV axles are at a good angle? And, I was looking at Headstrong for buying the OME parts from seems like they have pretty good prices.

Diff doesn’t get oil properly because it’s at an angle. CV angles are good unless your over 3” lift. It will also interfere with skid plates unless spaced down loosing ground clearance.
