Russian Olive, Multiflower Rose, buckthorn. Ugh. I need to get out soon and cut back the buckthorn and chemically nuke it. Again.

A guy around here made some good money renting out goats to browse your invasive species for a few years. He would put up a temp fence and charge a small fortune. Of course it just comes back the next year even more aggressive. Haven't seen his signs lately guess people finally figured out his "all natural" solution wasn't the best solution.

 

Is that whats called autumn olive. we have them bushes where we hunt and they are inpenetable thickets once they take over?

I did all the same upgrades this spring. flooring,carpet,bathroom flooring and painting. my wife saw every flaw and drove contractors crazy!i think they were glad to be done with us!!

So, I looked it up in my tree I'd book. The olive that I cut today was not Russian. So I Google and youtube it. I have autumn olive.

 

When I was cutting the olive plants I found these eggs

Kinda surprised a critter never found them. I broke one open and it was a stink that I never forget.

 

We actually have cut paths thru them where they border a field and deer use the paths, kind of funnels them out in areas you want!

 

Weather guessers said rain was "over" for a week. Sun would be out today.

Well..... It didn't rain hard but it never quit. Steady drizzle. No sun.

Called cops on a neighbor..... next street over. He's hitting golf balls at my garage. One went bouncing across my driveway while I was in the garage. Popo did a "blotter entry" in case something gets hit. It'll be on record that it's happening.

 

Used to have kids across street try and cut them thru us and on to ranch behind us. Always found them mowing so I’d drive down to fence and launch them back in their yard!

 

Hope you dry out soon. Got more here today, but we're like 8 - 9" behind where we should be

build a 3ft barrel potato gun out of pvc with a gas grill ignighter for a trigger. mine easly shoots 150yds with hairspray,carb cleaner is hotter but scared of it. cracks like a 20ga shotgun and shoot them back
