What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I always go all-out when I go to the yard. I bring two wagons full of almost every tool I own, including all my speciality tools when I travel across the state to all these junkyards.

And then I see these guys with a Wal-Mart plastic bag of channel locks, one or two screwdrivers, and a 25 piece socket set take out an engine in less than twenty minutes.

 

They are indeed much smaller.

That said, He is planning on swaping to the Taco ITRE and the LBJ so it'll be an upgrade.

 

The one thing I miss about CA is the Pick and Pull yards. There's nothing that exists like that around ND.

 

Is the angle on the LBJ for the tierod the same. I'm just wondering if it'll Nerf his turning

Sacramento, Chico and Redding. I bounced around over a decade. I'd like to live in Chico or Redding again some day.

 

Doesn't matter. He will use the taco OTRE with the Taco LBJ. So it'll be just like our trucks. Been done before. The t4r OTRE are skinny and straight. The Taco ones are bent..for some reason. The stud is bigger on the Taco OTRE. Mount is in the same place though from the LBJ its just the hole is bigger on the taco one.

 

Went on a cruise with my Tundra buddies today. They barely fit in some spots & some poo came out for both of them when they both 3 wheeled going down this one hill. Both were screaming "fuckin Willis!" going down that hill. Don't think they'll ever go with me on that trail again.

Finally got my ac system closed up and installed the belt and idler for the first time in 3 years. Replaced every damn component and two lines.




Too bad I can’t get it charged till next week and need the truck for this weekend. Pulled the ac fuse to make sure I don’t accidentally kick the compressor on till it’s charged.

 

It won't turn on without a charge anyway

 

I've just been wondering why in the hell anyone would even need one of these things.

I'm going to look out my windshield and side widows to see where I'm at, before I look for answers from this thing.

And in meters??? And Japanese??? wtf?

 

Any reason they weren't a little more passenger? Looks like it would level out the front.

 

I like to know how off camber I am. Nice to be able to reference previous experiences on how far is safe. Especially when flopping means rolling down a scree field a couple times leading to certain death.

If this Pathfinder had one maybe it wouldn't be layed to rest there...

That’s what I heard too, I guess the low pressure switch keeps it from doing so right? I figured just in case for peace of mind lol I have way too much time invested in the project to potentially fuck it up now

Yep, very useful item to have in these situations. I've been happy with the level o gauge on the dash.

There's probably 2 dozen things, that could have been done differently, that could have saved that Pathfinder... other than guages that should be in a helicopter.

 

Theyre pretty useless I think, if I had 250$ worth if fck you money I might buy one, fer fun

 

I got my inclinometer from a JDM Toyota Hilux Surf. That's why it uses Meters and has Japanese.

And no one really needs it. It's just a cool little thing to have that's fun to look at. The altimeter/barometer is useful though. It operates off atmospheric pressure. If you're camping at 2,500 feet for example and the altitude changes drastically the next morning, you can tell there is a weather front coming due to the Barometric pressure change.
