Sounds like you need to bring that one with you this weekend for some FluidFilm treatment.

What tires do you have on it? The Fortitude HT's I had on mine were adequate (surprisingly good, actually) in the snow, but once you did break traction they took longer to hook back up than I liked so I installed a set of AT Adventures instead. With those on there I drove through an honest-to-god blizzard on Christmas day with zero issues, despite tons of drifted and standing snow on the roads. The traction control and ABS systems on the F150's are excellent (at least compared to my '10 Tacoma) and really can do a lot with good rubber.

Edit- If I remember right Jethro's GM has the Fortitudes as well, and he was surprised by how well they did for him.

Put the 4s on the wife's 5th gen T4R. I like them so far, this winter will be the real test. Had the atw previously. Really liked that as well, lasted I think 40-45 k miles. Got really loud when near the end of life.

I think the atw is just a little too soft of a compound for year round use here in southern NE.

That is does and yes, I am really impressed with them. They are quiet and grip really well in all the conditions I have had them in. Including the ice storm mentioned a few posts above.

I have Michelin Primacy XCs on it. I hate them. They're good on pavement, but that's it. I can't go up hills on dirt roads without the trac light flashing. Had them in a dusting of snow once and they did not impress me there either.

Good to hear the traction and ABS are better. My Tacoma's ABS system was awful. One grain of sand on the road? Good luck stopping!

That's what I'm leaning towards too, as a compromise so they last me a couple years but still do well in the snow.

I'd be open to going to 265/70/18 or 255/70/18.

I haven't tripped mine since I replaced my brakes (Not that you really want to) but I'm curious to see how it goes...
There was a bump on RT 9 in westboro that I would hit every day as I braked to take my exit and if Started braking before the bump it would trigger the ABS every time...Got to the point where I would hold off on braking until after...Now they have finally repaved so I lost my test area

Rt 9 blows. At least from Worcester east, maybe even further west. Between the lights, traffic, and road conditions it freaking blows.

Traffic & Lights I can't argue too much about, especially if you time it wrong. Road conditions haven't been too bad except when there is enough rain to flood the valleys on the road. Big improvement with them adding the 3rd lane by Toyota/Target/Walmart & by giving the on-ramp coming off 20 room to get up to speed instead of a stop sign. Closer to Worcester/Lake Quinsig it gets exponentially worse though

It's crap until you get west of Northampton. Then it's a fun ride.

    Thanks man!

Thanks Rob! I know you're not the biggest fan of the color though haha.

Thanks! At least white hides scratches better. I'd go crazy if I had a black truck between scratches and swirl marks.

    Quite possibly!

    :D Miss you too buddy!
