Yeah... they cost us more than $750 to produce. Sorry, but it's not our intention to alienate some.

The new Ram lights are also higher than anticipated at $1350/set, and have less features than the Taco lights.

We already have a few hundred of pre-orders in line for those, however, regardless of price point.

 

You’ll still sell some for sure, But next time I wouldn’t add any cost until you know for sure. Or at least over estimate....

 

It's just an estimate. Could be higher, could be lower. That was also from eight months ago. We now offer something like 5-6x the housings we did then.

I don't think anyone is expecting you to take a loss on the lights. If you had said $1250 in the beginning then that would have been fine. If you gave NO PRICE, that would have been fine. What you did was put out a low ball number and hid behind the word "approximate".

I'm sure you'll sell plenty of them at $1250, but I'm not willing to pay MORE than a retrofit for a product that is

After this I'll also be using other vendors for all my lighting needs.

 

Well impress us with the final product and it's performance and maybe you'll bring some people back. I am sure that these will sell though no doubt because they are unlike other aftermarket lights for these trucks. Heck maybe one day I will grab a pair.

 

No expectations - no disappointment. But if you have expectations, well, you know. It's the same with pricing as it is with quality or movie hype, anything. I'm still excited to see this product even if I can't afford it. But that's just how expectations work.

Yes, some of us are still interested despite the pre-emptive price. If it's good we'll then you'll get orders

 

I would think that for the same exact price a retrofit of your current lights would be the way to go. WHY would you spend the same money to have only 80% output. Seems like a no brainer to go with a retrofit. Especially since you can customize them however you want.

 

True, but retrofitting a triple projector would be pretty difficult. If you are just wanting a single projector setup, do an RX or bi-led in the stock housing and then put whatever flare you want in. These housings are for people that just want a drop in, unique, in stock, plug and play replacement. And you will pay dearly for it

 

With a retrofit I'll be without lights during the process. With these I will only be down the time it takes to swap. Plus I'll have a backup pair.

 

Oh i get that it's easy to do, convenient and all. I just think that if you are spending that kind of money, get the most for that money. Especially with aftermarket housing and how well the reputation for longevity is. That's all.

 

Well, personally I am still in limbo between a custom retrofit and this headlight.

 

Any update? Did @TRSAndrew bail on TW because we made a stink about prices?
