I can't wait to have this thing put back together. I'm kind of a clean freak to a point and the parts all over the place is driving me nuts

Did you have any rust that needed fixing around it?

That's a hefty bill. My cruiser was repainted before I bought it, but I got to see the bill for a full repaint with Toyota paint. Ouch. Mine also got all new window seals since non of them are held in with that butyl rubber stuff, they all have big seals like the back window on the taco cab.

None, I'm really picky about how stuff is done and I wanted everything off. I don't want tape lines or the gaskets lifted with a rope wedge

I only ask cause my 99’s cab is fckd, started leaking the day I left it to move.

Was wondering how much they charged you but your N/A.

I’d imagine it’d be hard to get it to seal good again anyway.

The windshield in my truck was still original. It when they take them out that causes scratches on the pinch weld that led to rust.

Mine had some rust too from the last two windshields. The guy that was changing it for me was super cool and took a lunch break while I cleaned up the rust after he got the old one and all the butyl off. Took me like five minutes with a little abrasive pad and drill and some decent rust encapsulator. I didn't bother painting it the right color cause it is all hidden by the windshield edge and trim

I'm going to be doing a whole repaint to when I send my truck in. Not to worried ont the front fenders cause they'll be replaced when LT goes on. But dents, rust, windshield and seals be replaced.

Damn, sounds like it was leaking around the frame for a while. Mine was too but it always drained out and dried well enough that it didn't rust too bad. You can buy some 20 gauge steel and remake your frame, it's not too hard but it'll be tedious

I think that trucks just out of luck, from me anyway.

Rust holes in the frame, cab and bed and it has 270k miles, you can toyota me this and Toyota me that but I don’t think it’s worth saving.

I don't save rusty trucks, I don't buy them either. Once it's got cancer holes in the structure it's garbage as far as I'm concerned. Sell the engine and trans to someone with a truck worth saving, you'll make more that way.

    It’s my dad deal now,
I’ve done my damage to it, if he decides I part it out I’ll take all my shit off of it and transfer it.
    Old one thank gawd.

New ones a southern Utah truck. Pretty pristine
