    Can’t be. There’s no “distributor”

    I think.

Yea there are no “plug wires”. These trucks are coil on plug meaning the coil pack is directly attached to the plug. The wires @stairgod were referencing are the wires from the main wiring harness that plug into the coil packs

Tried plasma cutter for the first time. I suck at it.

Gonna put it down. Take a deep breath. Regroup. Watch some yoo-toob tutorials tonight and try again tomorrow.

I need to get some little fab/welding projects done and my TC Cam Tabs.

I can do a straight edge. What speed do you drag the top across the material?

Also gotta figure out Amp the settings I need for 240v.

So I need to increase the amps or slow my speed across the material to make a clean cut?

I don’t think the Plasma Arc version has extended tips. I’ll check.

Just pulled the front 1/4” reinforced steel IFS skid. Took all of 7 minutes. This goes back on the truck in October, my next RC or AAOA trip.

It looks pretty exposed down there, so I’m thinking about fabbing a skid using 1/8” steel that I have laying around. At least I’ll cut the ~90 lb weight in half for DD.

Edit: purchased an 1/4@ Aluminum Mobster IFS skid from @Bastek I should be able to install it after my last AAOA off road park trip
    of the season.

Doing an oil change and always pull my catch can canister and it was 2/3 full.

The bottle is about two years worth of funky oil that the catch can accumulated.

My freehand control is getting better.

And I think I dialed in the Amps/PSI/speed for 3/16” mild steel.

Cut looks a lot cleaner than last night’s first attempt.

i pulled mine, comparing my manifold with a buddies that didnt run one, there was little difference in how clean they were. Small difference but if I amounted the extra work to clean the can and empty it, it wasnt worth my time lol

Yeah it does take some hand gymnastics to unscrew the can and reinstall it. But I think there’s a benefit to it based on all the junk it seems to catch.

That's surprising. I always thought you just pulled the trigger and went! Didn't know there was that much of a learning curve.

There really isn’t Much of a learning curve. Just gotta be steady, and a consistent speed, which is my problem. Also gotta get a feel for the power settings.

I’m not sure how to quantify my drag speed.

Let’s go with 50 IPM (Inches Per Minute)

After some great suggestions that I solicited from my TW friends, I tackled this problem with a relatively decent plan.

I reserved an entire weekend to deal with anything complex or tedious, or if I broke something along the way.

I pulled #5 coil and there was all kinds of moisture on the exterior of the rubber boot. So I went ahead and pulled the #5 plug and there was moisture and gooey gunk on the terminal/ceramic insulator. So I’m guessing that there was water intrusion. And it was likely when I was washing the radiator fins with a garden hose sprayer a month ago and decided to give the engine bay a few quick blasts of water. Bad idea.

I shop vac’d the cylinder plug hole in case of other gunk or water and installed a new plug. In order to isolate the problem, I needed to change only one thing so I wiped down the old coil and re-installed it. And did a road test.

Voila! No misfire! Old Ignition Coil still functions as designed.

I pulled the old Ignition Coil, switched out the old rubber seal with a fresh one from my spare Ignition Coil (gift from Jimmy) and reinstalled with di-electric grease in the coil rubber tip, rubber o-seal and electrical connectors.

I replaced all the plugs and dielectric greased everything.

While I was in the engine bay, I cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body and dielectric greased every electrical connector I could possibly find.

Hopefully this is a permanent fix.

Thanks everyone for your troubleshooting suggestions and input.
