I wonder if the pics are from up on a lift which is why the cv angles are so extreme?

I think they have a pretty good reputation. That's the thing with good shops...they get a waiting list so the price goes up. Considering that is all done by a shop that has overhead, it seems sort of reasonable.

On one hand, the cost for the LBJ is 3x the amount you can buy them for on your own. On the other, the hub/bearing assembly is cheaper than anywhere else I've seen.

$1500 of that quote is labor

Also, I'm not sure of the specifics for an axle swap, but aren't you already most of the way there when you get the hub/bearings swapped?

I have some stock UCA's if you need to replace yours. Buy me a beer or something and they're yours

I have both of my stock wheel bearings/hubs that are still good.
They have about 120k mi on them, but work fine. They’re yours as a loaner if you want, until you can afford new ones.

It would be a pain to replace them twice, but less money now.

Those CVs look fine to me, there looks to be a lot of extra work in there that probably isn't needed. Your likely source of that noise is a bearing going out, if one is going the other will follow soon so makes sent to do both. But if there isn't play in the UCAs and LCAs then you don't need to rip those apart

You think a HC bumper would’ve kept you far enough away to keep from damaging the upper section of the bed?
I bashed my HC in my FZJ80 on that trail and made it out with no damage.

    Yes.

I wondered what, if any, differences there are. I looked at one in the store the other day when I picked up my LBJ. I think those things were in it, but am not positive as I had no intention of purchasing. The LBJ showed online that it is non-greasable and did not include a grease fitting, but there was a zerk in the package

True. This is also why I suggested doing things incrementally.

If you guys want help, I'm down to come help out tomorrow. I've helped do a couple sets of wheel bearings/hubs and LBJs. But just know LBJs have about 50% chance of not coming out

Jesus $2900 im in the wrong line of work... you can replace ALL of that stuff yourself and its not that hard. As far as the lower ball joints just buy new lower arm with the balls in them from autozone because they can be hell to press out. As for the other parts you can get them from Autozone too for the CV's get the ones with lifetime warranties.

here is why i say get the complete lower arms this is after 1 side

    Truck stuff
:burnrubber: I didnt get my bed but theres some new damage on my truck from Moab. I'll post a pic this weekend.

I agree with @hoarder23. They have likely added a few things because its convenient and could be done, like the axles that look ok.
It might have helped prevent a little damage but I dont think it would help much. HC works great for clearing/taking hits from things below. Kinda like sliders dont protect your doors. :anonymous:

No shit. My point is, if that trails the same since Jamboree ‘16, then staying a small distance away from the wall, due to the HC keeping you further away, it could’ve prevented it. It did for me at least.
