    Yes.
I guess 2 cylinder engines work even harder and need twice as much....whatever. 8 cylinders only need half as much.

It is interesting to note that motorcycle oils (for engines that spin twice as fast as ours) just need the additives that allow a wet clutch to operate proficiently and that no oil actually even tries to advertise itself "For 10K + rpms". Kind of says a lot about even the crappiest oils. Many guys run cheap shit in bikes also.

A couple questions for those who think a brand or their brand is far superior to other brands.
These questions are assuming you change oil and filter at regular intervals use recognized brand name oils, use the correct viscosity and that the brand is API certified. This also assumes vehicles used for everyday driving and not speciality purposes like racing.

Has anyone ever experienced internal engine failure due to the “brand”of oil they use?
Do you know of any published reports of incidents of internal engine failure due to “brand” of oil?
Do you know of any reports of vehicles not achieving high mileage say 250,000 or more due to “brand” of oil?
Do you have any evidence of engine failure because someone used low priced as opposed to more expensive brand name oil?

I know the answers to these questions. Oil preferences are determined by marketing, word of mouth, he said/she said, and little blurbs on the Internet and other miscellaneous sources. No one can prove your engine will last a minute longer using one brand over another. You can make all kinds of claims about a certain brand of oil but it doesn’t mean your engine longevity will be longer than others based on brand of oil.
I too have my favorites and personal preferences but those preferences have changed over a dozen times over the past many years. I know my favorite oil isn’t any better than yours at least as far as engine longevity.

THC oil, but sometimes its CBD.
Up here in Canada, its the only kind of oil that will survive our extreme freeze thaw climate.

I find this to be a good cost/volume choice...For those of us afraid to put synthetic in a 150K plus engine for the first time and discover how much oil sludge was sealing up mini-leaks

Good article on there where he runs old oil off ebay.

Anyway I choose the oil based on best commercial:

Oil good enough for that family...good enough for me.

Wow, I thought the move to Exxon was complete by '82.
2 bux off was pretty good on (4) 79 cent bottles of oil.

edit: funny thing though is compared to today's oils, even '80s oil was awful.
