What really sucks is I bought a nice DUI Dry suit used in March.
I put new seals on it and got 3 dives out of it.
It's been sitting in my closet staring at me.

Yeah I’m on ScubaBoard, but it’s just not super active for the region.

Brutal man. Well once you’re cleared this winter it will be the perfect time to hop back into it! I dive wet, still young enough and green enough I’m plenty happy with my 7mm wetsuit. Maybe someday wife and I will switch to dry, but I’m in no rush.

The best diving is in winter! You just have to go often enough to catch good conditions.

This was from North Monastery in December a few years ago-
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z32DCNpcWvk&t=20s

I still dive wet every now and then. You can move around easier and a wet suit is a lot less maintenance not to mention up front cost.

Where the dry suit really shines is you can do 3,4,5 or 6 dives in a day and not be freezing your ass off with mild hypothermia.

When it's good it's really good. When it's bad it's pea soup.

Find a dive shop near you, and walk inside, tell them you’re interested!! I’m sure they’ll be very helpful.

Some of the guys from Diver Dans and I are entertaining the idea of trying to wheel out to some of the popular swimming holes on the Rubicon and dive them to do some cleanup and also to find whatever has been lost down there. Call it a hunch, not many people take scuba out there and anything on the bottom should be ours. I'm sure we'll at least find some beer down there lol

That pic is on the barge in Emerald bay, we need a boat to get there and I'm not crossing Tahoe again in my 13' Zodiac. We started at cave rock and went straight across. The way out was nice and smooth, the way back not so much. I think that was sketchier than taking a stock Taco on the Rubicon lol.

We usually dive Monterey but we do get up to Tahoe fairly often. Have to see when I'm headed up next. That being said, I am fairly close to Monterey, so if you make it down this way let me know and let's make it happen.

Definitely will be at breakwater in 4 weeks time from now helping a class. Have you dove Monterey before? If not, breakwater is probably the best place to start.

I need to get scuba certified. Done plenty on free dive/spear fishing and surfed and body boarded my whole life. Just need to find the time :annoyed:
