Here is my cheap, but effective storage system for my Habitat. I didn't want anything as big, heavy, and expensive as Goose Gear (though their products are great). These weigh about 5 lbs for the pair, cost about $100, and I can remove them in about 2 minutes. They are perfect for storing our clothes - which tend to end up all over the place. Also great for toiletries - my Thetford fits right between the two and I strap it down with velcro straps. We also keep lights, food, and a few tools in there. The straps - shown on the one on the left - keeps the drawers shut and never had them fly open.

Anyone in the CO area willing to give me a hug, or buy me a stiff drink? Just put 25% down on my Habitat this morning..... my wallet (and my heart) still hurts :anonymous: Can't remember the last time I was both this happy and sad at the same time. I guess you could say I'm sad happy? Nah, too long... Maybe sappy? Or perhaps had? lol :D

It hurts yes, but it’ll be worth it.

Just having a hard time swallowing $800 in shipping and $800 in tax on top of the $500 install... But, that's what I get for not wanting to order direct from AT and wait I guess

Think I had to put 40% down... In any case I was not sober when I made the call, let alone the night of purchase. Beer helps me commit to things.

The hardest part is the wait! I ordered mine back on June 6th and just got a update from Mario that it will be done the week of October 29th. :tumbleweed:

Yeah, I do that too sometimes lol.

I was told something along the lines of "probably by the end of October" by the guys I ordered through. I got lucky, they already had an order in to AT for inventory; otherwise I don't think there was any way I was getting one before my trip in Nov.

Yeah I was originally quoted 12 weeks to build and then they had a aluminum shipment get held up for 3 weeks and now we will miss getting to use it on our trip that is coming up on the first of November. Yay ground tent.

It’s hard putting down that much money but will be so nice when we have it.

Another thing that makes it hard is thinking of how much more money I'm going to end up spending on it with all the mods I want to do..... lol

Our order was dropped in Jan and drove into AT’s parking lot the day after Labor Day. We were delayed by a shipment of tents getting hung up. Was a bit nice being one of the early orders.. before they got too popular.

Thankfully the minister of finance, my wonderful spouse, bought ours with part of her bonus. So that gut punch payment wasn’t mine to make.

I only wish they would have made a small number plate for the tents, like a VIN.

Just remember that first night will make it all worth it.

We are looking for a self inflating sleep pad for the adults to sleep on the truck side. We’ve decided to give the bed half to her boys.

A bit pricy... have you met our tents?!?

The exped is topping our list. We need to make sure the double is going to crunch enough on the sides to fit inside the tent.

We bought two of the standard version (not XL) of the REI 3.5 camp bed. They fit perfectly side by side on the bed. We bought them for our old ground tent, but now we have them on top of the Habitat Mattress for even MORE comfort. The width is just right, so they don't slide around and have one of us roll into the hole in between like we did in the ground tent.

    https://www.rei.com/product/870757/rei-co-op-camp-bed-35-self-inflating-sleeping-pad

Looks like REI has the XL on closeout. It would definitely fit with the extra length. We have a sizeable space at the end where I usually toss my cell phone or water bottle.

Nice work! What made you choose those over archive garage hammer hangers? Looks like you used a rust protection layer between frame and hanger?

We're in the middle of Month-End processing here at work. Was here from 7am til 720pm. Had to run to Tacoma (40 miles round trip) to pick up some tires off craigslist, and then turn around and come back to work. Got done JUST before 11. My wife called and told me I should just pop the Habitat and stay at work so I wouldn't wake her when I got home. I thought about it... but decided home sounded better. That and co-workers might wonder why I was still wearing the same close the next day. Maybe I should remember to keep a change in there for next time... Dedication or stupidity?

I’d say stupidity. Unless you own the company, nobody should work 12.5hr in a day. Gave up that shit when I ETS’d.

    Never again.

Now I work a min over 40hrs/wk they are paying me $68/hr.

12.5? You musta missed the part where I went back for another 2 hours, hahaha!

At least I do get paid OT, and it's definitely not the norm to work that many hours. At least not in my position.
