    The only thing that'd sway me away from a Taco is the Ranger diesel that's already been out in Asian/Pacific countries. But doubt that's every gonna happen in US (or for Taco).

    Every time I go back to New Zealand/Aussie, I switch between the Ranger and the Hilux diesel for rentals (their version of Taco).

    On Ford's website, they are doing demos in certain cities. Saw Sacramento is listed for Nov 10.

    Man..this changes my plans somewhat. Think I'll hold on to my '18 Taco SR5 4x4 quotes for now for another month and wait out the Ranger release. Worst case, I can always fall and pick up a 2019 Taco or something with end of year discounts. I think the Ranger will be using the turbo 4 cy and the traditional V6.

    No V6. It was said that none of the current V6s can fit. They are stuck with 4cyl turbos. It's not like that is a bad thing other than the lack of transmission choice.

    I don’t know man. Something about the raptors just feels like that time mc hammer changed his name to just hammer, and got into gangsta rap. Desert racing has been described as the “punk rock” of racing. I can see where people draw the connection. It was DIY, usually. Personally it was always “get a Toyota to start, that’s your platform”. This...this is just some hot topic shit.

    I think the fact there is a TRD Pro and ZR2 almost guarantees that there will be a Ranger Raptor. One is that blue color would be so very tempting. I think it looks great.

    Why? Ford makes good trucks. Wish more companies would put out more performance oriented vehicles like this and the ZR2. Not that I would be necessarily interested in buying one, but I like it when car makers put some passion into their vehicles. Seems like it always innovates new ideas and the trickle down effect benefits everyone.

    Wouldn't hold my breath but it would be awesome if they did. Honestly, all I want is a North American legal LC79 but that'll never happen. Will be interesting to see what if any pressure the Ranger Raptor puts on the Tacoma.
