i've had a few awesome cars come up.. then end up falling through...

theres a guy with a fully restored 1980 toyota pickup short bed 4x4 thats that beautiful blue... waiting on the day he tells me i can buy it.. hes been offered 20k and he told they guy he has a buyer for it already. he just wants it to go to a good home where someone will appreciate it... (me.)

 

You're kidding. Toyota does still make fun stuff.

Does Subaru make a machine capable of lifting 125,000 pounds with it's Diesel powered engine? Didn't think so.

 

it seems like car companies just make stuff that sells instead of stuff thats fun and really cool. think about it, when was the last time you thought a non super or anything above $80k car was beautiful in the last 5 years?

 

the mazda is a IA.

the supra is a BMW

the gt86 is a subaru.

 

He was thinking it was cheap, already stateside, and left him more margin for embezzlement

 

thats what it is.. and they're all collaborating now to save on engineering costs to maximize profits

 

Typical Chrysler has had their noses in every car company, for god knows what reason.

My Merc E320 was built by Daimler-Chrysler.

 

Year the GT86/FR-S chassis is manufactured by Subaru & as you know has a Subaru engine. Heck lots of Toyota engines aren't even made by Toyota, designed by Yamaha.

Otherwise, the DeLorean was a very well engineered car. It was body on frame, and the fuel cell was enclosed inside of the frame in all directions to protect against damage.

 

Yamaha only ever really designs the cylinder heads. thats been a thing since the 2000gt was a new car. hell the 5VZ is a yamaha head.

yamaha has only made a few engines completely for toyota

 

Fun fact the engine in my Land Cruiser could also be found with an LPG conversion in toyota forklifts. Instead of 225HP it made a whopping 72HP

 

yup i traded in my yugo with some cash to a guy who does fun projects like that. was my second car, has a 5 speed and a ls1 or 3 in it. was swapped from a v6 to a v8 lol. learned alot about throttle control in that thing.

So, it's the same engine block, just different top end designed for LPG?

The 2zz is a yamaha engine built off a toyota block.. thats an impressive little N/A engine.. the 3s were great. and the engines in the 2000gt were yamaha ground up (so technically all the m series engines yamaha kind of gave birth to)

 

Same engine block, head, no EFI, and instead it has a basic ignition system, basic old fashioned dizzy, and LPG manifold (basically a carb with special nozzles for vaporized fuels)
