So, there is no key hole on the latch in order to lock the tailgate on the 2015 SR5 that I just got. Anyone know if it is somehow able to be locked?

Pop n Lock is the only key locking handle. I have one and it works well. However, some people have had a problem with the handle breaking and then it's very difficult to get the tailgate open. Knowing that it's made of very cheap plastic, I am very careful with mine.

I had a Pop-n-Lock for 3 years until it failed with my bed cover locked. Took me two hours to break into my own truck without scratching my paint.
INSTALL ONE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I have a pop n lock, I don't have trouble with even with icy and snowy weather in nw montana, had it over a year. I know it's not fool proof bc someone could just slice through my tonneau cover but it's at least a deterrent.

Look up the $10 DIY, I just completed this mod and it’s awesome. A lot cheaper also.

Are you trying to prevent tailgate theft or secure things in the bed of the truck? Or both?

I also have the PopnLock and I havent had any issues with it. With the canopy and the tailgate locked i feel pretty safe leaving some shit back there.

Pop n lock customer service is awesome. I had one on my truck, it started getting discolored and handle becam every flimsy. I called them and they sent me a new one no questions asked. Didn’t even need to provide proof I actually had one. They just asked me for my address and overnighted it to me.

I agree the customer service is awesome. I was down to my last dollar buying a tonneau cover and pop n lock, and they cut the price a significant amount so I could get both.

I got a Fold-A-Cover hard cover which has a footmans bracket at the rear which goes into a footmans loop on the tailgate and with the tailgate up and both ends of the cover locked, the load is secure. This way, I don't have to put a plastic piece of Pop & Lock crap into the tailgate and easy to open. Like others say, anyone with a crowbar could get in but no one can control that.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. It's not that I need to lock it... it's just that l'd like the option to if l wanted to. I learned today too that Toyota only started putting in tailgate locks in 2016.
Here's another question. Does anyone know of a sort of 6" or so lifted tonneau cover that would allow me to carry my bike laying down in the truck bed?
A soft cover one with supported edges or something like that?
    Thanks.

    Hey Muddy,
    Is yours a 5' bed?
The best I can get my bike in the back is with the handle bars sticking up 6".
What kind of tonneau cover do you have?
I don't want to have to take the front tire off every time. Do you?
    Thanks!

I have a 6' bed, I don't take the wheels off, I just crank them to the side. I think the model I have is the Truxedo Truxport model.

I had a pop n lock that broke because the finger that does the work is plastic, and a week design. If your latches on your tail gate are not lubed and sticky, your pop n lock will break. I took my broke one apart and made the handle and finger out of steel. Never break again. I put it up here on what did u do, it's called, pop n lock fix, I think, good luck
