Shipping my Tacoma overseas.

So I'm shipping my tacoma off in a crate to Lebanon. I noticed that dealerships there only sell Hiluxes, but there are Tacomas that I've seen there in Lebanon. Would toyota there still be able to maintenance my vehicle? Do they use the same parts as the Hilux? Do they have a map GPS memory card for the middle east i can use? What should i bring with me for my truck?

Has anyone ever taken their tacoma overseas?

Plan on becoming self sufficient in your own basic maintenance or you will pay extra rates for it being “exotic” you can easily order things from the us even if taco parts were not available for some reason there

 

I'm sure they'll have some parts since Toyota vehicles share parts, but you'll pay import fees for anything they don't carry and have to order. I'm 100% confident they will be able to service anything on you're vehicle, but you'll get ripped for the cost of parts.

 

I figure 90% of the world market Hilux trucks are 4cyl diesel stick shifts.

the 3G tacoma has a fair bit in common with the Land Cruiser Prado J150 aka LC3/LC4/LC5, which in the US is sold as the Lexus GX series (but with a V8). The LC Prado is also the basis of the 4Runner.

 

Which begs the question: why aren't you buying a Hilux already???

I'm originally Lebanese and my parents live there, so I want to keep it at their house. I'm being Transferred to Dubai for work so I'll just get a new rig over there. Lot's of gorgeous mountains in Lebanon, so it will be perfect for over there.

If something goes wrong with your 3.5 engine overseas, I'm not sure Toyota mechanics would know what to do or how to handle it.

The 3.5 was only designed for the North American market.

Have a 4cyl 3.0 turbo diesel automatic.

With the new BIGGER turbo, injectors, intercooler, exhauat and ecu it should be an animal.

 

That would be awesome for road rage

 

By the time you pay shipping and tariffs it will ne cheaper to buy one there. And ill guess its about 3 months to get it there. The hilux is the tacoma.
