The Bald Mountain trail is fairly mild. Really no danger of pinstripes or panel damage unless you're doing something ill-advised.

Stock trucks are fine. Obstacles are optional.

    General Plan

    1. Meet at Starbucks in Madera at 8:30 Friday morning
    2. Depart Starbucks at 9:00
    3. Arrive at Cressman's General Store in Shaver Lake around 10:15 to refuel
    4. Convoy to trailhead
    5. Drink a beer
    6. Scout possible campsites
    7. Relocate to chosen site
    8. Setup camp
    9. Drink a beer
    Camping Location
Camping will be somewhere along Rock Creek Road as near the trailhead as possible. There are no facilities.

Temperatures will be in the mid-50s during the day and low 30s (possibly upper 20s) overnight, so come prepared.

    Remember:
There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. (ancient Norwegian proverb)

    Possible locations
Taking possible number of rigs, fire danger and proximity to the trailhead into consideration, here are some possible campsites:
    1. 37.129164, -119.178497
    2. 37.142316, -119.196153
    3. 37.146246, -119.193263
    4. 37.147757, -119.196444
    5. 37.143779, -119.184664
    6. 37.126172, -119.178134
    Info & Resources
Most nearby trails close November 1, so running another trail will not happen unless we find something open. Just means more time for beer. May stop at the ranger station in Prather for more info.

Tenitively in. Not sure I will have the 9th off.
Would like to have my seals and bearings replaced by then.

Could just top off the rear and run though.

In, as long a my truck makes back makes it back from Utah in one piece and not on the back of a flatbed tow truck. I'll update 9/24 when I get back.:mudding:or :anonymous:

I didn't want to say stock trucks are fine then have someone jack up thier rig. I dont remember the trail being terribly difficult. The fun obstacles are side trips not on the actual trail. Definitely bypasses if I'm remembering it wrong.

You could always come for the camping and shenanigans and ride shotgun with someone for the trail.
