I'm cool with it. Honestly if you're worried, hit it with a squirt of grease a month and puke out the grit. That one can be done on the ground

Yea, for me, more than anything it is just a way to learn more about the modifications I am doing to my truck and the parts I am using to do them.

I've always been semi-mechanically inclined and can handle most anything not involving advanced physics or chemistry or electronics. So basically most of all of it :anonymous:

Hey all, I’m curious about Marlin’s elastomer bushings. Any long term reports? Benefits over oem rubber?

Great to hear! I mean no one was freaking out, it's just good to ask questions when you have them rather than let something go wrong because you are afraid to hurt someone's feelings. And it's a great way to learn. I wish I had asked more questions growing up............

Was there ever any talk of LCA bushings in the new elastomer?

Keep us updated I’ve had mine for about 2months with light rusting. Others mentioned they will rust but not like the rate of rusting like the original ball joints.

I’d suggest buying a detail brush and clean them when you wash your car. Curious what winter salt roads will do to them but I’ll be putting a light layer of fluid film.

@Blackout14 before I contact JBA I'm trying to figure out how as of today my Powder Coating is flaking off. Just did the Ball Joints yesterday and @mach1man001 cleaned all the arm with a rag and nothing came off. Now this today after getting the under carriage coated with Fluid Film. Is there any way the Fluid Film is causing a reaction with the PC? By this time next year now I'll need all new arms again because it makes no sense to try an touch it up if it's just gonna flake off. Must say for a truck that is nothing but a Mall Krawler wouldn't think this in just about a year.

Fluid film is oil based correct? Also from my recollection, isn't this new coating on the balljoint cerakote? If so being, it isn't as strong as a powdercoat so that might be why it's not happy with the oily-based fluid film. Honestly when I have to repair or replace mine I'm just going to spray paint them black. I understand Marlin wanted to keep that machined look, but for everyone who lives back east that's just not going to happen on a bare-machined suspension component that's very exposed.

Talking about the red UCA Arm, not the Ball Joint. The red is just chipping off in pieces.

    Well choot, I'm blind.

Well, I know when I had rust start eating at my front skid plate, it completely just ate the powdercoat right off, it didn't chip or layer, it completely peeled the coating off.

Taped the area off and hit it with some clear bed liner. Hopefully it will keep it at bay through the Winter, then maybe a different arm next year yet again. Kind of a pain in the ass to spend 600.00 on Camburgs and get a little over a year out of them and now 450.00 on these and a little over a year and have to replace Ball Joints and now failing Powder Coating.
