Hey all, glad to be a new part of this forum!

Quick question, after a recent inspection of my truck, the mechanic told me I will need new struts and shocks which will run me approx $818 and $333 respectively. Does this sound right for anyone who has had the same or similar fix?

    Thanks!

Well I would find another mechanic because our trucks don't have struts, so who the hell knows what he's talking about.

What I would recommend is finding someone on here who just installed a lift. You can pick up their stuff for a couple hundred bucks and it'll be a nice upgrade from 11 year old stuff. Hit up @Dandizon91 because we just installed a lift on his truck today. His stock third gen suspension will even lift the front of your truck 1".

What do they have instead of struts? Or why don`t they have struts? I just want to educate myself so that i can make a case for myself if another mechanic says the same thing.

A lengthy thread, but it'll explain everything. Up front, we have coilovers. It's a coil, over a shock. In the rear, we have leaf springs and shocks.

Hey Welcome! Like EatSleepTacos said, probably just find a set of used stuff. I can cut you a deal on my previous suspension. 30k miles on them
