My sons generation as a whole in numbers is so far away from understanding what's truly important in our lives here. I'm needing to go into overdrive to continue to show him he s still easily distracted by "technology" useless tech.

I did the Copper River once when I lived in Valdez. It was a fun drive on a beautiful day, but it was early in the season and I didn’t catch a damned thing. Dipnetting sure is a lot of work, too. Seems easy but it is not.

You want to try your luck in the Kenai Peninsula, you know a guy...

    That’s cheating.

With that much fish coming in, you either get a lot better at cutting them or a lot worse as the day goes on.

I am pretty good at cleaning fish. You know the subsistence hunting and fishing regs. It still is fun.

since I am just now discovering this thread..... I am new to cooking in a smoker, thus far Ive done chicken breasts, a pork shoulder, a brisket, and a rack of ribs. I picked up a cheap Masterbuilt 30" smoker on sale at walmart. for my first smoker, I figured for $60, it was worth the gamble, and I LOVE IT! Next weekend I am hosting a housewarming party, and have two 8LB Pork butts going in, to accompany burgers and dogs on the gas grill. I look forward to rereading much of this thread and grabbing some recipes and different ideas for rubs!

Look into an AMAZN smoke generator, the chip delivery system kinda hugs on those (have cooked on one for years) it doesn’t burn the chips to ash, but to charcoal, plus you need to add every couple hours. With a generator your good for around eight hours of perfect smoke.

I didn't know there was an electric one. I live with my son in the you can't do this you can't do that Villas. That should challenge the HOA here along with the Fire Marshal. I recently got rid of my electric grill and stuck with the stove and oven.

Delicious. The 10 year is one of my favorite ryes.

Was lucky enough to drink some of this, though, the other day.
