I guess with the exception of Treds. They are known for not being able to bend and if they do they break. Reason why I did not get them. XBULL are basically the same as maxtraxx they bend and flex. Even if they did break they are cheap to replace vs maxtraxx. The plastic nubs do wear down after a while if their in constant use.

Maxtraxx is wild for those prices. I’ll still go to my word of “plastic is plastic”

My 2 cents on the matter.

For real. Any of these boards are as good as the next until you spin tires on them and melt the knobs. I'd rather do that on the 80$ Amazon's than the maxtrax.

Pretty much. Think most know your not suppose to spin your tires, but it’ll happen at some point if your really stuck. So cheaper the better

    Ex
Exactly. Once the plastic nubs are gone you either replace or retrofit. Plastic is plastic and you can retrofit any board. I will say maxtrax do stack better though.

Think that was the problem with the xbull from the generation before. The new ones will stack now like maxtraxx.

For this application they are essentially the same. You spin they melt. Every option will do that.

Just to note....maxtraxx are longer than the xbulls. Xbull I can place in the back of my bed against the cab for easy storage. Also the main reason why I got them.

    This thread is funny.

OP if you're worried about durability get a set of treds until you can swing a set of maxtracs. Then you'll have the reliability of MT with a couple affordable back ups.

Like #3 Stated, might want to Invest in some Tires first. Good driving with better Tires goes a long way

All this talk of plastic melting.. am I the only one that's noticed the ridiculous quantity of rocks/wood/scrap-anything literally everywhere that can be thrown under a spinning wheel?

OP, I love you, I say this with no sarcasm... You don't need any recovery gear. I can tell by the first post in this thread that you will never need it. Just save the money, or mail it to me so I can buy my dream banana plantation.

I have two, and a winch. Have used the Maxtrax a few time, and never used the winch. Make what you want of that. It really depends on the kind of wheeling you do. I’ve used the Maxtrax in snow, sand, and mud. I’ve never needed Maxtrax on all four wheels either.

Lol you don't need any of that overlander shit. If you're worried just get some tires. If you're that stuck two pieces of plastic won't do anything, get a winch

That’s not even close to good advise and is heavily biased. Been stuck on a sandy hill with no trees to winch off of. Could I have buried a tire and winched? Sure. But why waste the time and effort when you can pull out boards and be out quickly and easily. Add in needing a winch mount or bumper on top of the cost of a winch, and you’re spending WAY more than a set of traction boards.

    https://smile.amazon.com/X-BULL-Rec...ebp_QL65&keywords=xbull+recovery+tracks&psc=1

They come in a nice case too. Dont keep them in the sun (mounted on you your roof for example) because they are not UV stabilized as far as I know. This could be leading to the durability issues some are having.

Thanks for all the feedback everybody, I am going to get one-pair of either trek 1100s or the XBull. Which is the best of the two?

I have used four of the xbull to get my self unstuck. I can't say they are better than the other brands but they got me out with no issues.
