Man fuck these lights! Got them to work off a two pole switch while still hooked up to the battery, tried to hook them up inside off the fuse box and nothing but heating wires and no worky. I seriously could have built my own harness rather than dicking around with the one that came with the lights. More important things, I need to climb under this truck and do some maintenance checks on it before two back to back wheeling trips in October, lights going on the back burner.

    Hardcore Fab weld porn time:
    IMG_20180923_150505262.jpg

Last trip out my spring from my brake lines got snagged on the line and was flexing the hard line up and down. The fix, booger weld a nut to the frame and tie the Hardline off to that to keep it in place.

Also have some in bed tie down solutions off Amazon coming in the mail, tossing stuff in the bed and wedging it together may not be the smartest of options, and since everything only fits one way I'll be able to standardize how it's secured to the bed.

Pre trip repairs needed: I think the bearing on my fan bracket is taking a shit, ordered a new one, may start ripping into it tomorrow. Rear center bearing is totally fucked, have one Amazon prime to the house. Good part is all my welds look good, after these repairs it's grease evreything up and I'll be good to go!

Thinking it may be one piece drive shaft time. Tossed another tinken center bearing in it for October road trips, may be giving hi angle driveline a call this winter to build me a beefy shaft.

Hence why I'm calling hiangle to build me one that can take a beating. Unless there is a pillow block solution out there that can withstand extended 75-80mph highway driving.

I'm running a single piece .120 Wall Dom shaft that a local guy makes. He does all the drive shafts for a local coal mine heavy equipment and mud drag trucks. I ran it for 2 years and didn't damage it until I lifted the whole truck with it while playing rock bouncer at Harlan with Mark. It still wasn't that bad though. Not sure what high angle drive line uses though.

Question- If you arent doing any serious offroading are there any drawbacks to a one piece shaft? I have a bracket lift and am considering one for performance reasons. Thanks.

If you aren't wheeling it I would still just keep the two piece. That is a long one piece driveshaft. Then again you have a 2nd gen, I don't know anything about them.

I had a howling coming off the front of the motor, I thought changing the bracket would fix it, it kind of did. Timing belt looks good and the water pump isn't wearing, the cam seals are still good as well. I was committed to changing that bracket since I purchased it, and if I didn't it would have let loose in the middle of no where southern illinois, it's the way the universe works.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that! Illinois people try to stay out of Indiana, the dick cops there hunt us out. Plus 65 is only 2 lanes for pretty the whole state and the left lane camping brings teh suck.

I went though Indiana on my way back from AOP last year and it added almost 2hrs to the drive. And not a senice 2hrs, bumper to bumper doing 56 behind a mini van passing a semi doing 55, repeat, 2hrs.

I don’t envy your drive if it’s what I imagine it’s like. I drove from here to Iowa a couple times. Corn, corn, corn, beans, corn, corn, beans, beans, beans, corn.

65 is awful in Indiana, two lanes pretty much the whole way and half of it is under construction with crazy traffic patterns. I hate how much I have to use it when I'm pulling the race trailer.

Unfortunately 65 is the only option to get to Harlan too
