Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    Semi-pet peeves today ....

    (1) Going to a busy Chick-fil-A this morning and watching everyone walk faster to be first in line and running out in front of the cars while pulling their kids along in front of the cars.

    (2) Not a driving pet peeve but here goes .... It seems like when I have a single item at the grocery store and the "rapid check out is closed" and some fat lady with a loaded basket runs like crazy to get in front of me .... never fails and it is never a good looking chick either.

    (3) At Costco today and the "Walmart Parking Lot Fungus" has started there with people leaving the carts everywhere and the carts hitting other vehicles. I park waaayyyy out in BFE and I still push the carts to cart storage area. I saw a lady a Costco today (in a new Raptor) load up her truck, then let the cart just roll down the parking lot when she got in her truck.

    (4) For some reason ... women seem to want the parking place right by the front door of the store and are will to scratch each other's eyes out to get that special, close in parking spot. .... Me, I park waaaayyyy out in BFE to protect my Taco and to get the exercise. I see women even fight for the close in parking spots, so they don't have to walk so far ... at the gym too ... lol

    (5) And then I see at least 10 people texting on the drive home from Costco and we now have a law prohibiting that now.

Oh, well, I am though now :)

In order to keep our sanity my wife and I play a game. When we see something stupid we guess bluehair (old fart) or cell phone. We are getting pretty good at calling things.

I am a blue hair and hope I give up my Tacoma before I loose my skills, but I am never on the phone

The green arrow represents the path of my Tacoma, the red arrow represents the path of the ambulance, and the blue arrow represents the path of the Suburban...

    IMG_9734.jpg

Again, the ambulance passed me in the left lane and then got in front of me in the right lane...

Also, the ambulance actually passed me prior to the intersection of Kelly Road and was in the right lane by the time it passed through that intersection.

The green arrow again represents the path of my Tacoma, the blue arrow again represents the path of the Suburban, and the blue X represents where the Suburban was stopped before cutting me off...

What would you have done in that situation if an accident had actually occurred? I was going more than 50 MPH, in a 3,100 pound Tacoma. Hitting a Suburban that probably weighs double that, at that speed, would have most certainly deployed the airbags. Even if the body damage was not horrible and the truck was still technically driveable, deployed airbags would be an automatic write-off since my truck is almost ten years old and has almost 90,000 miles. That alone would lead me to start swearing at the guy...

This was an actual study done a few years ago on people waiting for a parking spot to open up: If the person parked there saw you waiting, they would take 40% longer to pull out. They would adjust the mirror, adjust the seat, fiddle with the radio etc, versus just hopping in and leaving if you weren't there. Now if it was a women parked and another women waiting the time jumped to 70% to 80% longer, they would apply their makeup, work on their nails, hair etc. I found this to be mostly true.

For sure, my ribs would've been fractured. I'm short and skinny, so the steering wheel is level with my chest.

When I was at college, I loved to wander the student parking lot and take pictures of the unique vehicles that students drove. Between 2011 and 2015, I spotted a 1960s VW bus, a '67 or '68 Mustang, and a '67 or '68 Chevy 2500 stepside pickup, among others...

The point I'm trying to make is that I very rarely went right to my truck after class. Sometimes, I'd see a vehicle shadowing me, and if I was in a good mood I'd tell them that I was just wandering the lot and had no intention of leaving anytime soon. If I was not in the mood to talk, I'd walk faster and lose them in the obstacle course of parked vehicles...

No violence though, right? That guy's belligerent behavior makes me want to start carrying mace in my truck again...
