She may want to look in to Mass Maritime too. They have a great Marine Science and Enviromental Protection major.

Graduated from there in 2013 mechanical engineering. Saw some of the Marine trusted things there. Gooseberry island is a short drive away for free beach access and there's also horseneck beach but rings of the new Bedford scum go there and after one day taking my wife there we haven't been back lol. School was pretty decent. They started doing more activities and such after I left. Professors I had were 50/50 couple of them were just awesome but a couple were nuts lol one has finally retired so that was good for newer students. They are working on new freshman hiding not sure when it will open though. Lived there my freshman year committe all the others. My parents lived only like 45min away tops but I sometimes made it in half an hour. Library is new. Not sure what else changed since I've left, especially since I almost never left the engineering area or the library.

What horrible seats! Hockey is always great live, looks like it was a fun night!
Wife and I started a venue up about two years ago now. Bloom Meadows in Hancock MA, we have FB, Insta and a real website if you wanna check it out at all.

I have a few friends who majored in Marine Biology. It sounds like as long as you don't want to be a dolphin trainer (which apparently pays basically minimum wage) it is a good gig. Both live in Florida now and I'm not sure exactly what they do, but they are both very happy and don't deal with snow anymore.

I don't think I know many families at this point in the area who haven't been effected either first hand or has a cousin etc... with a problem. I remember in H.S. it was almost easier to buy some vicodin than weed or beer for a few years, no one mentioned anything about being addicted, but everyone had a script for some bullshit injury or their parents did and the pills were everywhere. Rich, Poor, healthy, unhealthy...they don't give a shit, you give that stuff an inch and your life is ruined for years if not forever.

BIL went there, loved it and is doing well. When I lived in Raleigh, almost everyone I talked to wanted to hire people that went to N.C. state, and didn't want anything to do with guys who went to Duke or UNC. Now, that differs in some fields I am sure, and when you get outside of the state, but it was nice to see some support for the local state school from employers in the area.

    Morning all. Happy Sunday.

    I'm in CT.

UCONN has a program but it's at the Avery Point campus in New London/Groton. That campus doesn't have housing and she'd have to go to Storrs for 2 years. It's not on her list. Her interest is in sustainable fisheries aka aquaculture. There are programs specifically for that but she's been advised by those in the business to have a broader degree for other options. They said even Chemistry is a good degree for that career.
We've got UNH (New Hampshire), UNH (New Haven), URI, Roger Williams, UMASS on the list so far. She's stubborn so that makes it a challenge to change her preconceived opinion on schools. Great kid though...

Happy Sunday. Going to be stinking like wet sheep in a couple of hours. If you're heading my way this morning, I have some donuts and bottled water.

A couple of months ago I won a trip to go white water rafting from a local radio station. Well today and tomorrow is the trip. We just left the radio station a little while ago and we're on the bus for the 5.5 hour ride up to the Forks Maine. If I don't have any service up there I'll talk you guys on Tuesday

Do you have a wet suit? Once it gets below 70 out or is cloudy I'd pop that sucker on. I got one a Job Lot like 4 years ago for $30...great investment. You can wear it under clothes :)

It's all pretty now (except some bird poop from its storage area) and I got it out a couple times, but it worked great up in Maine which was pretty much what I bought it for. Hoping to have some more time next year to get out a little more though. I saw you moved into a new spot, it sounds like you and the wife have been doing well!

Have traveled there a few times for work (I'm an athletic trainer) and the campus looks like a prison compound in my opinion...or a a mental health facility?

That's pretty much what the entire campus looked like when we pulled in...plus some weird ass "sculpture"

I remember going to Mass Moca (modern art museum) in 6th grade and seeing 3 pieces of 4x4 aluminum square and being told it cost them 1 million dollars. I asked them why they didn't just copy it for 1 thousand dollars... I was told it wouldn't be the same because theirs was art, mine wouldn't have been art. Intent is apparently all that is important

Good ol' modern art. The best way to launder money in the 21st century. :spending:
