Fuel system/injector cleaner recommendations?

Any success with a certain type of fuel system or injector cleaner? Any recommendations?

 

Decent gas = years before needing that product.

All gas from reputable sources are .. well .. gas. It’s the gas you get from someone 20 miles from knowhere is when you have to worry! These MoFo’s love to dilute the gas with water to make it last longer in THIER tank, not yours. I try to avoid them as much as possible.

Using fuel system anything in a newer vehicle with less than say ... 70k is a waste of money. Most newer vehicles, like the 2018 Tacoma and my wife’s 2015 Charger, clean the system at idle so it’s a moot point.

Before I traded my Dart, I took it to dodge to have the oil changed. It only had 34k on it. They came to tell me that I had carbon build up and it needed cleaning or I would experience power loss and etc. I smiled, and said sure, do it, as long as it’s under warranty cause a car with CBU at 34k isn’t normal. Besides, it has direct injection ... try again.

 

With direct injection, you do get carbon build up on the back side of the valves.

 

Not at 34k. Maybe at 60k I’ll buy into it.

 

Thoughts on 711 gas?

Seriously, nothing wrong with 7-11 gas as far as I know.

 

Negative, I looked it up. 7-eleven open 24-hours At the one close to work.

 

Carbon build up does occur with directed injection engines. It builds up in the intake runners, on the back of the intake valves and the exposed portion of the valve stems.

There is no magic number of miles (such as over 60k, as you stated) that it starts to occur.

 

That is why Toyota designed our Trucks to run a cleaning cycle at idle.

 

True, but I think the stealership was just trying to pull a fast one prematurely. That Dart ran as good the day I traded it in as the day I bought it.

 

Alot of fuel stations leave pumps on while station/store is closed. It may be a law. Think about it.

All 7-11’s I know of are open 24 hours. But if a station leaves pump on 24 hours, even while closed, you can bet your ass I’m not getting gas there. Skimmers anyone? Skimmers?
