I couldn’t wait for the delivery any longer.... drove out to Bozeman to pick it up. I made the 12 hour drive from Portland in two days. Looks like the drive home is going to take at least a week......

I have both of those items, and opt for the yeti most of the time. One more plus with the yeti is I use it as a step up on to the tailgate. Not going to do that with my spendy ass fridge. More then two nights then the fridge gets broken out, and if I am going into beer (yes beer) country I bring the yeti 20 for additional storage,

GoFastCamper (#41), ARB 2500 Awning with Full Room, Mobtown Off-road Sliders and Full Aluminum Skids.
I’m not positive on the brand but it is 100% a 2M awning. The 2500 on mine runs tip to tip on the GFC. I have it even with the front and overhanging about 4 inches off the back so i can have full use of the panel with the room attached.

It looks identical to my ARB, but there’s a lot of companies (smittybilt comes to mind) that are all probably made in the same factory in China...

Another interesting take. I leave my fridge in my truck 100% of the time and it’s strapped to a tilting fridge slide so access to it is much much easier than lifting a cooler. I may be spoiled though because i don’t daily drive my truck. Not sure if it would be as practical this way to
    Commute in.

That said I have a 35qt yeti that I love but it’s been mostly retired since the GFC got here and the fridge got its permanent home.

Btw I dig your IG account, you catch some solid fish!

Very nice, I had this same one a while back and sold it. I ended up going with an eezi awn swift to go on my GFC, cant wait for the install.

One thing I have always wondered about the optional room: Does it touch and rub against the paint on the side of the vehicle or can it be secured in a way that prevents that?

It touches the paint.... but it’s much softer than trees and rocks...

    It's DLX son!
I like the looks of it - but they say to e-mail regarding price. Is it one of those "if you have to ask you can't afford it" situations?

It is actually cheaper than most awnings. It was made for and by VW bus/van owners initially. When I first discovered it I was surprised how much less costly it is compared to other awning systems.

Think it is around $450 now. When I first discovered them they were in the $350 range.

Setup does look a bit laborious, but the stowed size looks like it might be nice for mounting to the rear extrusion.

I wouldn't say it is more or less than other options.

Idk why bother with the CVT, ARB, Rhino Rack...They're all the same Chinese crap re-branded. Personally would rather wait to see what Graeme cooks up. I bet you give it a year or so before they start to copy the GFC design. I think Eezi awn and Alu Cab are the only non Chinese imports, and both from S.Africa; would rather send my money over there.

I went Eezi awn mostly due to ease of set-up when alone. The others are not bad but were an annoyance enough to make me not want to use it as much.

I just stumbled across the GFC, looks freakin' awesome! After literally years (just look at my post history) of trying to convince my wife to upgrade our sleep system from ground tents, this is the first platform that she's been genuinely excited about! Any extra details I should know about that were revealed in the past 300 pages of this thread? What's the final price point? The website doesn't list price or accessories, which is a bit frustrating. I'm ready to order one right now!

Anyone have any cool builds with the GFC they could link to? Stuff like heaters and bed slides/drawers would be cool to see.

EDIT: I'm an idiot, found the product page via google that answers most of my questions. https://gofastcampers.com/products/gfc-platform-standard

That lead time is brutal. May 2019? Ouch. I was really hoping to get it before Xmas to use this winter/spring.
