The goal is to leave my kids $1,000,000 of debt. That’s probably what it will cost to raise them right? Little fuckers.

Now I just need to find a girl to make them with and the plan is off to a great start haha

Don't they usually have deals around Christmas? I can save till then, either sell or trade in my truck and go get a new one.

But also tags are going to be comparatively more expensive for a 3rd gen. 22 years old and 4WD on a 2017 truck is going to make my insurance skyrocket. I have no accidents but still. That's why I was leaning more towards a second gen. Maybe a 2015? Might be able to find one with low miles.

The conversion would be a fun project for sure though. Would only need to save a couple grand to buy a beater so I can drive while doing the conversion. SAS swap wound also be fun but more than the conversion. Could buy parts over a period of time and the end result might be worth it.

You may be able to get a decent deal in an 18 right now.

I think I'm going to just do a conversion. I've been indecisive but I think it'll be fun. Also I've grown fond of my truck. Ive had it almost for 2 years and I've done a lot to it. Makes me appreciate the time I've put into it. Also I just found this bumper, might make a drive this Saturday :anonymous:

My lady would support this over getting a 2nd gen, she likes the FJ cruisers
Is that what it pretty much is?

I'd get a 4runner over an FJ any day. FJ only has 2 windows that roll down, and......when the weather is nice, or you have wicked Cheeto farts, those extra windows that go down are priceless...…..wait.....where am I...….

The man won’t budge from 35k but that’s fine with me. As long as the woman approves. If all goes well that’ll be the next whip

When and if you decide to do the conversion, I can get you all the parts. Your manual all ready correct?

This. I had an 2008 FJC and it was nice but the rear 1/2 suicide doors and Boeing windows are horrible for anyone in the back seat. Anyone who has kids who ride in the back will quickly learn the face of disappointments.

The FJC and 4Runners are similar but slightly different. Up until 2010 they were built on the Land Cruiser Prado 120 frame and after 2010 the 150 frame. The FJ built off the 2 door frame and the 4R off the 4 door frame. They both share the same engine and automatic transmission.

Just debating between manual or automatic, I can save some money by getting auto. Won't have to buy new ECU. John's being a big help with the part finding. Gonna be probably a good 5 months before I actually put it together.
