Very nice!!! I live down a gravel road so it would look filthy within minutes again lol.

Looks brand new under the hood - well done.

Simple Green, diluted, worked awesome for me. Google it. Full strength can be very harsh though...

Wow that looks awesome. Not sure that method would look the same on my 05. B4D997D3-09EE-4511-8BFF-A217F4838AC7.jpg

I see that catch pan. Did fluid come out when you removed the hub? It shouldn't.

For an '05, that looks pretty good @kyledamon ! I think the method would work for you. Just don't use pressure and have a bunch of old microfibers. I'm kicking myself- should've had a before picture... The Adam's VRT really made the plastics look new and I would highly recommend it!

After I removed the hub, there was a small amount of water and dirty grease in the spindle cavity. I flushed out everything with brake cleaner. The catch pan was for the brake cleaner.

So I thought I'd spruce up the Taco now that I have decided to keep it for towing my quad, going to the beach, etc. What started as general new bodywork, etc turned into now new shocks, etc. Really love the ride of these Fox 2.0 shocks! Nice and firm and now the truck is LEVEL finally. Here are some various pics from the work lately. New front stock bumper (when i was still stupid and not thinking I would go aftermarket offroad bumper), new chrome rear bumper, buffed the headlights and fogs, new exhaust tip (not shown) and the shocks. New tint as well since my old tint was rippling and peeling, etc. Detailed the engine bay as well. Man, was it dirty. Cleaned the MAF and intake cone, re-oiled, etc. Next on deck is the new front bearings, new plugs, and injector removal/cleaning. She's coming along! Also next up is the Icon Alpha wheel and Duractracs since the stock rims are starting to bubble, and I want bigger tires anyway with a bit more stance. I am definitely excited about those.

Those were the ones I was looking at for a cheap pair to mess with. Not too far out of my technical skills to do any of that so maybe I will get them and tinker with them.

Finished up my dark grey metallic headlight bezels. Also refinished the lenses. Might give the lenses one more round of polish then seal them.

So I started yesterday hard mounting my tool box and doing the bed liner on my fender flares... and then my neighbor showed up with a new to him first gen with a bed cage on it. He didn't want the bed cage and offered it to me for 150.00! So today I mounted the cage and put a basket I had on top to help stabilize the spare. Instant expedition rig.

As long as it doesnt need to clear the edges. Sits on the bed rails great. Dabbed up some brackets that tie it into the side rails. Now I need bed stiffeners.

It's close enough. Most of the width on the second gens is in the fenders. But a topper or tonneau will look really bad because the bed rail is a full 2 inches wider

I have a long bed w/ tool box & would need a short bed style rack to still have tool box accessible. Have no interest myself in a tonneau cover but good info to know for others
