TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I just talked the wife into headers.

Earlier today she said my truck sounds week...

She drives a Hemi Durango.

 

Just tell her that you guys should race for pink's. That'll make her change her mind about that "sounds weak" comment.

 

She’s got me beat on hp/trq, but that AWD SUV is heavy.

 

I drove away from a 5.7 hemi 1500 not too long ago. I think youre good, the weight advantage youve got is substantial

 

I almost kicked my buddy's ass back when he had a 1500 hemi Ram 5.7 when I was bone stock 4.0 non supercharged. He walked away from me because of the obvious 2 cylinder advantage, but yeah, point is you are past good now. Never sleep on a boosted Tacoma. Many make that mistake on me.

There is something so visually and beautifully striking about seeing all those pulley's in one image.

 

I find it very difficult to believe that you've managed to keep an axle in one piece long enough to tear a boot.

 

You are on thin ice buddy. You have two on your wall of shame.
And I have yet to blow apart an outer cage.

 

Thanks to everyone that gave tips for changing plugs with the s/c in place. Went pretty smooth.

 

Told you it would. I got that procedure locked down now.

 

Only spooky part was getting the drivers side center coil top out. That's a tight clearance.

True. But when it's your dd and your wrenching parked on the street the unexpected gets your blood going. Builds character. Bought the truck with 27k plugs I pulled arent factory. Runs smoother than ever now.

 

I really need to do this to both Tacomas.

 

If you have two swivels, two 3" & one 6" extension you're good. Took me 2 hours cause I'm special.
