I went from Tacoma. To 5.7 tundra. To 4Runner.

Best move yet. Love this thing every single day.

Yea, let me know when you haul two atv’s. Most of the stuff I need to take won’t fit in the bed, so get over yourself.

Pretty sick looking runner man. On my day at the dealer I did take a look at a lifted runner but as I spent about 5-6 weeks looking for the Tacoma I wanted I decided to stick with the Tacoma

What was the total $ lost? I have a 2018 offroad and considering trading for a tundra. I also just need more room and more towing power

You will NEVER find a manual trany in the 4R. Know why? Because 4R is a woman's truck and they don't know how to play with a real stick...

The only honest problem with the new 4Runners is the back end of the truck is from 1987 and the front end of the truck is from 2041.

They really need to work on it looking like the ass belongs to the face and vice-versa.

Bro, please keep your trap shut. 4Runner is a fine vehicle.

For your record 4Runners came with a manual up until 2000. I would love to find a premium example of a 3rd gen with a 5-sp.

I really want a Taco, but not at the expense of my 4Runner. My bare bones SR5 4Runner is my favorite vehicle I've ever owned.

Things I'm not willing to give up for a truck that I can do in the 4runner:

    • carry loads of vintage guitars and amps inside, climate controlled
    • carry two adult bikes locked inside
    • take seven people offroading

I also feel like it's just a better off-pavement platform with the shorter wheelbase, better departure angle, standard ATRAC.

I get by doing truckbed-like stuff for now by putting the rear window down and hauling lumber. My best haul is two adult bikes, two kid bikes, and a scooter in the back with the 3rd row down, 2nd row up (with kids in it), and the rear window down. I keep a moving blanket to protect the rear windowsill.

I will have a Taco in the future, though!

    Agreed. I prefer the 2010-13s to 2014+.

dresser, couch, gas cans, sod, tanbark All yes. Dirt in tubs, bark in bags, gas can for generator each trip. Gotta power the projector somehow.

This couch. It was a bitch, It has two power recliners and is heavy as hell.

For the canoe Prinsu Roof Rack or make a stand to hold the front even with the rear window.

FJ Cruisers also came in Calvary Blue, a guy I work with has a CB Trail Team Edition.

I think they refer to it as heritage blue though, need to see them side by side to see how much different the colors are.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I towed my ‘85 crawler and a big ATV up to the top of Golden Mountain OHV Park. I passed several rigs on my way up to the top..should I have done it, probably not. But it did it...and I was impressed.
It was an ‘03 V8 4wd, it was a sick truck.

How much $ did you lose on the trade in? Did you have a 2018 Tacoma?
