I think this is all about value gents. The Pro starts at $7000 less than the Raptor, and a couple thousand more than a base Rubicon unlimited. Now I have had several Tacos, including a Baja, and I now have a Pro on order. I have also have a Rubicon Hard Rock, but never a Raptor. My experience has been that my Tacos, the Baja in particular could handle 80% of what my $50K Rubicon (with options) could do. I suspect it could handle 80% or better of what the Raptor could do. Each has some advantages and disadvantages over the other, all are very capable vehicles. But the value I recognize in the Taco is that while not AS CAPABLE as the Rubicon, it also doesn’t beat the living shit out of me on the highway, and it’s not in the shop more than it’s on the road. The advantage I see over the more capable Raptor is that it too is going to spend more time being repaired than driven, and when I go to trade it, it’s going to be worth nearly as much as I paid for it, where the Raptor is going to be a toss up between selling and setting in fire for the insurance money. Granted, the Taco Pro is expensive, but so is an off road, SR5, or base taco when compared to the competition. I can get a fully equipped Tacoma with Fox Pro shocks, rigid fogs, and lots of other goodies for about the same as it’s (arguably) two closest competitors AND it’s going to be reliable and hold its value far far better... sounds like a great deal to me. BTW, I will add that I traded my 4 year old Baja for about $4000 less than I paid for it on a trade, and I am willing to bet they would have went higher. Now I don’t expect the Pro to do as well since there are far more being built... however I did just take a 4Runner Pro on an extended test drive, and they had 4 buyers lined up behind me when I took it back the next day. They were asking new MSRP on it, and it was a year old used vehicle. Value Is a very subjective thing. Can you take an OR and invest less to make it just as capable... absolutely. But that Pro badge will make up that cost difference if you ever go to sell or trade, in my most humble opinion.

I’m surprised what you said about the retail value of the raptor. I feel like the used ones I see around are super expensive. I didn’t know their resale value wasn’t good.

Yea, you're probably right about that, at least for now. I was commenting on the general resale value of Ford trucks, which probably isn't a fair assessment giving the Raptors popularity. But I traded a 12 year old 4Runner for $16,000 and just sold my 18 year old 4Runner for $6500. Have done excellent on all my Tacomas too. I would be willing to bet the Raptor wont hold its value like the Tacoma will, and particularly the Pro, whether or not its justifiable. As always, just my own humble opinion.

I’m thinking of getting a big rear fin, maybe the snorkel too!

I would rock it. The contour lines forward on the fender look titties. The overall sweep is a little cartoonish. Price is right? 259.99.

So is snorkel going to be standard or an option to add on. Would prefer the choice not to have it. So just wondering.

I think the TRD snorkel is going to look sick if it integrates with a prinsu rack or another cab-top rack. It’s a bit much up there on its own, but will probably look cool with other stuff on the roof.

I doubt I’ll buy one. I’m going to wait for the cold desert air intake for more HP.

On Toyota Canada Build page it is standard and can not be removed. That sucks. Would have been nice if it was an option only.
