Mannnnn I know it’s been done a million times but black wheels would look really clean. But I know your going for jdm (which is awesome lol) so copper will be cool for that.

lol. I know.. black would look pretty good. I may change my mind by the time they are ready for color.. who knows. lol Or I can just plastidip over em if the copper gets old. just thought the copper would be a cool color combo with the tan, especially after seeing it with the Historical plate.

My only thought is that the color may almost be too close to matching the truck you know?

What about having them exactly match the truck? That could be sweet.

Loving the copper and the fact and I can run historical plate! It got quite a bit of attention at the car show Saturday morning.

I was worried about that too.. that's why I went with copper vs the gold. I think the gold is too close. After I put the license plate on yesterday and saw the difference.. I was sold.

well.. carb was tuned.. but its worse now.. so taking it back in tomorrow.

It hangs.. like the return spring isnt working or something. the throttle sticks.. I had cruise control the entire way home.. lol no foot on the accelerator and cruisin in 5th.

oh, and still bogs down with any heavy acceleration.

The overheating is due to the fan clutch being trash and it needs rotors and pads so I'll do those asap. Also needs a brake fluid flush, coolant flush, and new waterpump and gasket.

If your doing brake upgrades, There's a Master cylider swap you can do that is a bolt on mod. It's a 1" bore from a FJ80 I think. You can also upgrade the brake booster but you have to source that from a junk yard tacoma.

Looks like a weber is coming sooner than expected.

They did not. I actually forgot to mention that..

I may do an upgrade down the road... Trying to keep costs to a minimum to get it daily worthy. I'll do rotors and pads.. the carb is the most frustrating thing right now... It feels like it's sticking.

So I haven't had too much time with carbs, very little back in highschool.. so forgive my skill level and verbage.. but.. it seems like the throttle is sticking.. and I can physically manipulate the throttle cable to repoduce it. I feel like it's more specifically.. the float? It has travel still when I release the pedal.. and it stays open slightly.. I have to blip the throttle to get it to close. I pretty much had cruise control on all the way home. No throttle input and it cruised the speed limit...

This will get stuck down partially still after i release the accelerator.

@YumaTRD think the Weber conversion is really worth it? power, simplicity, efficiency right?

cheapest I've found a new Weber conversion is $250ish. A rebuild is about 30.. and a refurb'd carb is about 150.

LCE says there’s knock off models and their original model that details for $300+
The one for sale could be a good pick up, but the adapter plate may be different so you’ll have to buy that additionally.

I’d first check your timing. Maybe get a video up of what is happening. Then you can adjust air/fuel. I don’t remember how to do the stock carb. The Weber is simple and an upgrade you’ll end up doing over all.
