More stuff added to drain the buyers wallet. Stuff that the buyer could probably add on his/her own at a lower cost

Please, they could buy a truck without it just as easily as they can buy a truck with it.

People buy whatever they want, price and mark up has nothing to do with anything except what keeps the world rotating on a daily basis. Don’t want to pay for something, don’t buy it. Business is business. Consumers are consumers.

The Toyota Sport Series is a Gulf Coast Toyota Package built on the SR5. It has the same suspension as the SR, SR5, and Limited Tacoma's. Same shocks and all. The TRD Offroad has softer Bilstein shocks and might help. The Sport has stiffer Hitachi shocks. and the Pro has Fox Shocks.

Edit to add: The TSS also has BFG KO2 tires. Don't know what load range, but if they are "E" load range they will be stiffer.

I don’t know of any Tacoma package that comes with truck rated tires. I was under the impression that all came with SL load tires, otherwise that would affect efficiency standards. This is all true and you are correct in everything you say-- I agree -- buuuut the majority of consumers nowadays are impatient and are of the "gotta-have it NOW" mentality.
I read this morning about how a record amount of "retirees" today have been filing for bankruptcy, so I guess this has been happening for a long time.
